...basically.

Here at DATS, we're about as low on staff as Masaru is on patience, and Agumon is on intelligence, and Touma is on loyalty. (inside joke from one of our first series, Digimon Savers)

...just kidding on that last one.

Anyways, we're basically in need of the full sweep right now.

Translators

Should be able to translate in a reasonable amount of time. We'd like to get things out on a reasonable schedule, but it's kinda hard to do when translators are busy with two billion other commitments.

Plus, having a semi-speedy schedule of getting translations encourages the rest of the team to be speedy as well.

Translation Checkers

Should have a firm grasp on the Japanese language, and be able to notice when there is a glaring error in translation. Like normal translators, a speedy return would be nice.

Editors

Should be able to take a rough Japanese translated script, and turn it into gorgeous English. This will require you work one-on-one with the translator on any lines that seem slightly fishy, so that meaning is not lost.

This can be a high-stress position, and isn't to be taken as "Oh, just grammar mistakes~~~"

Timers

Should be able to get a translated script fully fine-timed within 48 hours. On occasion, delays are understandable, but I'm not interested in more timers that take 2 weeks to time a chapter.

Typesetters

If you don't know what this means, you aren't qualified.

Quality Checkers

Should have a firm grasp of the English language, and beginner understanding of all the fansubbing steps. It is important that our QCers note when something is in the wrong place, or a sign is off.

We have lots of ongoing projects to choose from, from anime, manga and even fun one-shot projects as well. Plus, staff can have some fun projects to work on on the side (so if you can get us the RAWs and translators, we might be able to take on some new projects!)

Our current, past and dropped projects page is located here if you'd like to see some of our work.

If you're interested, please either reply to this thread at our forums (guests are allowed to post in this section of the forums) post here, or feel free to send me (kaitou.psyren@gmail.com) an e-mail or our leader (jkaizer@gmail.com).

Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you! :-D

I know, but we happen to do both anime and manga at DATS, which is why I felt it warranted a try here on the forums as well.

I also set up a post over at Baka-Updates, just to cover both of my bases. smile

But most of your job descriptions only apply to fansubbing...If you're gonna post on the manga side, make it targeted to recruit for the manga positions (well, you DID just do a simple copy/paste, but that's the whole problem...)

Understood, I filled this out while at work, but I'll fix it up really quick, sorry for any problems I caused.
