Quote from sandman1008
For me, when I'm down, I don't want to listen to happy songs. I want to listen to songs that match my mood. It works even better if the words match my mood. I feel that when I listen to mellow songs when I'm down, it's almost like I'm sharing my feelings with a neutral party (like a shrink). And for most people, once you vent your problems, you tend to feel better.
So, when I'm down, I tend to listen to Dredg. In particular, the song Bug Eyes, or the album El Cielo. Paint It, Black by The Rolling Stones is also another one of my favorites when I'm down. Feel Good Inc. and El Manana by Gorillaz is also a good one. Weak and Powerless by A Perfect Circle is yet another good one. New Year's Day by U2 is another one.

Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf and Bo Diddley: Goin Down Slow. That would be the exact "I'm Down" song. Or "Stormy Blues" by Billie Holiday.
