I'd mention two factors:
1)The amount and the power of emotions the manga can cause the reader to experience (be it excitement, joy, thrill, laughter, philosophical thoughts, whatever).
2) Lesbians.
I'd say both of these factors are each equally important.

but i think emotions is all that is needed, and a story. I have yet to read a Lesbian manga.

BTW, rather than Kashimashi, I would recommend great manga such as Pieta, Strawberry Shake, and Strawberry Panic! ...and the many hilarious lililicious one-shots.

character development is always good..... hot girls always has me interested....

I don't like DBZ, the art is too poor. The story doesn't have to contain hot people to get me interested. Rather, fantasy components are needed sometimes.
