Looking for a series about a character male or female who is "damaged". E.g was raped, someone close to them died and they took it really badly. That kind of thing.

Genshiken I guess you could say Ogiue was damaged. Now adding to the list, Cat Street Definitely damaged at the beginning she's an empty shell of a person. Skip Beat She loses her ability to love and lives for revenge.
Never read it but Kiseki no Riyuu and a psychological seinen, Nijigahara Holograph.

well ok for the classmates, i remember of course, but its Onizuka the main char, and the request was for the main char to have a sorry/tragedic past :3
