I prefer shoujo but maybe that's because I'm still a teenager

I like shoujo much better, but the drawings in josei manga are awesome, so I tend to read those more.

It depends on the manga. Generally, I can't make a decision... I like DNAngel better than a lot of Josei... but Josei is sometimes better, like with Selected Pandemonium.

I voted for Shoujo
Shoujo manga, which reflects the coming-of-age innocence and optimism of girlhood are cuter, sweeter and more romantic than josei which reflects simply the harsh and cynical reality of adulthood/womanhood.
Besides a school girl's experiences with life and romance are more interesting to read than a woman's

Josei.
More realistic, more refined art style [generally], variety of storylines.
Really. Can you imagine some shoujo manga girl in reality?

Both have their share of crap and masterpieces. In Japan 'shojo' is the umbrella term used for both shojo and josei.

I voted shoujo although lately I've been more into josei type of mangas. But when all else fails, I can always find a shoujo to read and enjoy

I prefer shoujo because it's usually more funny and entertaining. While josei has more depth and less stupidity, they can be pretty boring. Kimi wa Pet is a pretty interesting manga though, and isn't stupid at all :3
Both are good imo, but there aren't enough scanned josei mangas out there for me to have a definite opinion on it.
________________ Hardcore shoujo-fan. I don't read anything under a rating of 8 though ;D
I also like k-pop. Ailee and Dara <3
You should read The Friendly Winter (It's underrated!) |

josei, now i'm really picky when it comes to shoujo strong heroines, less stupid cliches, covering more aspects in relationship (relationship is not only about love), bringing reality issues not found in shoujo (ex: work), and when it had smut, it is hotter than shoujo
maybe it's because of my age

i recommend Kuragehime and anything by Yoshihara Yuki for a very good laugh

i dont read much of either of them, but i pick josei because one of the best manga i am currently reading is josei, 7 seeds. i also love the old school shoujo, which will be considered as josei now, by people like hagio moto. in love with sci fi. but theres some titles in shojo that i like too, as long as they have good story or good characters.
