Usually once i see the anime, that's it for me, although i did read Mai-Hime after i watched the anime. That's the only instance of anime before manga that i can think of right off hand though i'm sure there have been a couple

It has occured once. After having finished the series Elfen Lied, I decided to read the manga, but I've never been able to finish it. Although, I really liked the anime, the manga was a disappointment, mostly because of the poor art, I guess.

Not really. I started with manga, but I was curious after watching Trigun. ^^

no..I read the manga, and sometimes watch the anime.
I watched Dragonball and gundam wing when I was younger, but I never read them.

It's happened occasionally, but since I don't typically start with anime, the occurrence is rare. I typically am unsatisfied with anime in comparison to manga, so I'm not likely to watch manga.

Well, yes..but sometimes I find that I prefer the anime in those cases for example Full Metal alchemist. But sometimes I liked the manga better like Kodocha since the anime is long winded and ends without resolution while in the manga, there is one...

yes! like with Special A. the anime was so good, and then it just ended. i couldn't resist taking a look at the manga.

i've found (throughout my life) that books are often (usually) better than movies adaptations. the same often goes with manga and anime.

i find that the art is usually better and more thorough in manga than in anime, and the story is often more interesting or more complete. of course, there are some times when the anime is just as good as the manga it's based off on, but even then, i usually find both equally good. who says you can't like both? and especially when there are alternate endings between the manga and the anime, it's always nice to take a look. wink who knows? you might find the other version better.

Not really, I tend to stick to either the manga or anime version of a series only. But if the anime differs from the manga then I will seek out the manga. ie. D.N.Angel
