Fate of Lelouch

Poll
Will Lelouch die at the end of the series?
He will die
He will not physically die but be ostracized/isolated in some other way
He will take a fall but be happy and well in the end
He will win but willingly step down from the throne
He will be completely victorious, all hail emperor Lelouch!

Code Geass = Death note

Heard it before and I can see some similarities but I wouldn't say Lulu is Light and Suzaku is Ryuk or L [which ever you where comparing him to]

haha good one about Ryuk and Suzaku, made me laugh. Yea and C.C. is the blonde girl from DN. Seriously Light is more like Schneizel.

Ps If some people don't like series when the bad guy loses in the end. Why won't you watch " Rxxx: Prescription for Pain" or "Private Sessions 2" instead, Without spoiling, stories lack grand scenery and goals (Fight is not for the world but a hospital(rxxx) ) but girls are as brainless as light's girlfriend or Ashford student Council girls.

Anyone heard of this theory yet?

Alright, it seems that the last episode was pretty complex and out of most of the people I've talked to, a lot of people don't seems to get it. I'm going to tie up all the lose ends with this post.

The Code is the power of immortality, which C.C. has. The 98th Emperor of Britannia, Charles, has the Code. He transferred the Code to Lelouch while strangling him in episode 21. Lelouch wanted this, and he deliberately told Suzaku to not interfere.

However, the Code does not activate unless receiver dies first. This is shown when the nun kills C.C. after transferring the Code to her. Charle's Code activated when he shot himself. Here is one of the big misconceptions that most people have: The transfer of the Code does not involve death of the transferrer. The nun was crazy and killed herself after she transferred her code. VV was injured from the battle and died. So basically, after episode 21, Lelouch had Charle's Code (inactivated) and C.C's contracted Geass.

When Lelouch got stabbed by Zero/Suzaku at the end, his Code was activated. What supports this is that Nunnally got Lelouch's memories when she touched him, just like Lelouch did when he touched C.C. back in Narita. The only way this could have happened is his Code activating. This pretty much confirms that he has the Code.

Unlike C.C., and Charles, who lost their Geasses because the people who contracted them died, Lelouch didn't obtain C.C.'s Code and thus kept his Geass, while having the Code (which he obtained from Charles at the same time). Lelouch therefore has achieved CODE GEASS.

Let me just say I'm a pessimist and if a series ends by showing a character dying, I think he's dead, but reading all these theories on Lelouch being alive makes me happier even though in the depths of my heart I think he's dead.

Yes, I have heard of it, but no it doesnt make sense. If Nunnally gained the memories, then wouldnt she know that Lelouch is still alive? Let Lulu rest in peace...

I already posted a similar theory on the Code Geass prediction thread

What I'm confused about is that Nunnally didn't seem to think it was strange that she saw Lelouch's memory nor did Cornelia think it was strange that there was another Zero...

no she could not no, because by the end of the series many people knew of the Geass, but they did not know of the code. only a few knew of the immortality code

@damnedman: That theory is flawed, but the memory thing isn't. It happened with CC twice, and neither Lelouch nor Suzaku gained CC's full past (Lelouch was still plenty shocked in 15), only glimpses of it. It's entirely possible, if not probable, that she wouldn't see the bit where he gains immortality, just the bits we saw her see. Considering it happened twice in the exact same manner under similar circumstances, and that Nunnally's expression changes after she sees it, it's not really something you can intelligently argue against . And even if she did know Lelouch was alive, she would also realize that she would be incapable of seeing him ever again, so he might as well be dead, his persona as "Lelouch vi Britannia" died then, either way you look at it. She would despair anyway.

I've been over what's wrong with that theory before in this thread though.

As to the Death Note thing, I really hate the comparison (though saying Schneizel and Light are similar is a little more accurate.) Light, when it comes down to it, is this creepy sociopath that sits in his room eating chips and killing people. He doesn't care about anyone, and push come to shove he really doesn't care about the state of the world. If it wasn't for their equal strategic ability and intelligence, they would be polar opposites (heck, Lelouch can't even stomach killing someone until after the Shirley arc in season 1, and even then it gets iffy for him.)

And I just thought I'd bring this up here, because it's vaguely related to the situation- in the end, Suzaku's methods won. Lelouch started agreeing with him back at the end of 20 (he says so explicitly in the extended preview), and they follow both the Britannian and UFN rules in order to orchestrate the Zero Requiem. Ironically, if Lelouch had done what he wanted, he would've been sealed for eternity in the Sword of Akasha with Charles, and Schneizel would've become Emperor and nuked the world to rubble.

@Blak: Who knows really? Geass is full of inconsistencies in that matter. It's conjecture, but I think Nunnally, given her character, would be much more distressed at the fact that she can't ever see Lelouch again (and that he's dying, and in CG immortals do technically die) in front her. She'd probably worry about the flash later on. As to Cornelia, she probably didn't care because that "Zero" killed Lelouch.

I considered that she would be worried over Lelouch's death over the memories, but a simple "what's this?" from her when the memories started showing would've sufficed no?

Just not enough room in the scene, I guess? For all we know, she could have thought it initially but chose to say "I love you" to her brother instead... it's not like we hear all of any character's internal monologues.

It is a good point, and it's worth bringing up, I just think that there are more than enough explanations for it not to bother me, especially when it's based on conjecture of a character's thought process anyway laugh.

No, Nunnaly wouldn't know that Lelouch is alive. If you think about it, when C.C gave Lelouch the geass in the beginning...Lelouch thought C.C was dead until appearing in front of his eyes. Nunnaly wouldn't know all the facts just by his memories I think.

off topic but......

whats the big show this season, now that code geass is over?

and back on topic.... the whole "lelouch still alive" thing is about as propable as a sequal to Death Note, or Dragonball.......gotta face the facts here, he's dead, it's something we all saw coming, any characters that mixe black and white....good with evil, are bound to die in manga/anime 99% of the time, it's like hero's have to be cookie cutter to survive, ya know?

still, i can't wait till the next anime/manga with the Light/Lelouch "type" protaganist comes out though...... but all in all R2 was a good ride, though the last few episodes seems like they were pulling shit out they ass, but a great series regardless in my book

Dragon Ball had this popular sequel called Dragon Ball Z laugh , but I digress.

Gundam 00, I guess? Casshern and To Aru Majutsu no Index also seem to be well received. Tytania probably will be as well (just like ef is), but that doesn't really appeal to the geass crowd.

edit: Taniguchi's official announcement in this month's NewType: "It's up to your imaginations". As expected, his opinion is that it should remain ambiguous, and that there is no correct answer. This also gives official confirmation that it's possible that he is both alive and the cart driver, like it or not.

Meaning we won't have a godforsaken ep 25.1,DVD only, 1 min long, to have a fine closure of this series? roll eyes

Where is the point of having a good series if the ending is ambiguous? Even i prefer a sad Lulu dead ending if it is conclusive.
