im excited that all those hippsters at manga-sketchbook got this out
i got a little impatient tho and actually bought the english copy from the bookstore
anyway is anybody else lookin forward to the new volume?

New? You mean the 8th volume?
Well to be honest I was looking forward for it finally getting released by Del-rey. But once I had finished reading it though I was somewhat disappointed that the author decided to leave it before Sasahara had graduated.

The download link doesn't seem to work, and I also checked delta anime torrents for an actual torrent, and found none.
If it was there, it was removed.
Anyone have an alternate?
EDIT:
M-S's irc chan states that the download should be on datorrents, however, its not. No downloads for volume eight exist anywhere, as far as I can tell.
I'll keep watching the situation, and update as it develops.

i thought it ended after the 9th volume? well the 8th is new to me until i get to the bookstore to get the 9th soon
Spoiler (highlight to view) after finishing the 8th tho, i dont see really any suspense going into the 9th volume, oh well hopefully it'll be worth the $10.95

There's a ninth book?
I've always just known Genshiken to be 8 books, and when I saw that Delrey put neither a preview nor a release date for a book 9 then I figured I was right...
So~...?

they've got volume 9 up for pre-order on their site now,
wonder if its available at bookstores yet?

Still find it odd that Del-rey didn't mention when they were going to release vol. 9.
But hey, that means I'll get to read another volume so I won't complain, unless someone else made it than Kio Shimoku

It says on their web site that volume 9 will be comming out in November  (they usaly release volumes of their manga every 3 months..... but for Genshiken it seems to be every 7 months....).
It seems that volume 8 has finally come in for me at my library today. Which is where im off to in a few minutes  .

Geh? November...
Genshiken has always been somewhat parallel with Negima (i.e. negima comes out a month before genshiken), which is next going to be out in end of May.
But to look at the bright side, now I've got two books that I'm waiting for that are coming out on the other side of summer! ^^

I'm kinda sad knowing Genshiken is ending next volume.
Been a fan of the series since I first read it, which was after I first watched it. Always hoped they'd animate more of it, seems like that won't happen, though.
