Personally, I think CNN is overstating the situation. Shooting yourself in the face is one of the surest ways to kill yourself. Doesn't work sometimes, but more often than not it does.

I think he hated a few people, but mostly himself. he prolly got bored &decided to go down in history. I mean, he outdid the columbine kids by quite a lot.
Also, I think it's wrong to assue he's mentally disturbed due to his writing. People in creative writing can make a living off of writing disturbing things. His wasn't even as disturbing as some writing my friends have written. He would have never made a living as a playright, though, his plays were horribly written.

I think this situation is all retarded.. I mean this situation even happened cause the retarded teachers failed to realize his mental state even though he turned in like 2 of the MOST TWISTED AND POINTLESSLY VULGAR plays I have ever read.. if I was a teacher there I'd put him in "Gonna shoot us all down someday" list.. I mean they were all about how teachers are gay.. and dads are gay.. and he goes off on a cussing spree every other line... I mean this guy had serious problem that ppl ignored.. (If you disagree READ HIS PLAYS!! FREAKING DISTURBING!!) I feel there was SOME hidden cause of this.. I mean he has nice parents (atleast the news claims them to be..), nice class mates, and he had a pretty average life.. which the news turns the blame on the games he were playing.. the movies he were watching.. I mean he was retarded enough to use 2 glocks... (counter-strike players will recognize..) RETARDED!! GRAWRZ!!! I read the korean News and they claim he was mentally unstable and claimed himself to have died like jesus.. eradicating some rich people and shit like that... chew on that folks.. even though I probably just rambled on without making much sense.. chew on that...

Yeah I saw somewhere that he was watching Oldboy (a korean movie) and I was wondering if it was based on the manga by the same name. Yeah there has to be something that drove him into this and I doubt how nice his classmates were. Did you see the roomate. He lived with the guy for so many months and he never really talked to him wtf? I don't buy that shit for a second. You're living with a guy for so long and you don't even say hey man wanna play xbox or something. What the hell are you that unfriendly. The manga Oldboy isn't about a psycho killing people at random. But perhaps it could be used to describe what this psychopath was feeling. The main character in Oldboy experiences paranoia and what I believe to be a deviation of psychosis.

I'd believe that, that sounds like me and my roommate from last semester. We pretty much just said "goodnight" and otherwise could go 2 weeks without saying a complete sentence to each other. He wasn't ugly (he had a girlfriend too), however he'd play WoW for ~8hrs-a-day and sleep-in until 3pm.

Needless to say he dropped out of college (...I think )

On the serious side, i really don't know. But as soon as you decide your life is forfeit and know you will kill yourself, if your angry enough there is nothing to stop you from going down in a big blaze taking a many people as you want with you. That way you can finally get all the attention you never got before.

By the way, since you have only about 1 amok running gunman a year, i think you can estimate the possiblity of the disturbed/depressed/bullied kid in class being one. Something like 1 to 10000 maybe?

in the video i heard that he said something he was pissed off, i don't really get it, he did swores but NBC "beeped" it through, and i only watched the cutted version. He said some disgusting thing like "ripping my soul apart" "tearing my heart" or whatever it is that i find nasty and disgusting. Very mental problem right there.

I don't like to know about this news, even in crunchyroll "our thoughts are with you at virginia tech". 32 people died because of a guy who is pissed at something i don't even get? His stories and plays were seriously a disgrace and no wonder the teacher does not approved his grades.

It said he was a loner, but it seems he does have friends, i mean he showed his friends his stories and plays first of all.. and this shooting was recorded in the most school guman shooting or something. I don't feel comfortable talking about him, but this is seriously disturbing. 32 people??
