Quote from Dr. Love
There was a Mai. You know, that woman that always sneezed and changed her hair color/personality because of it.

No, her name was Launch. But why did they let Bulma have guns and look like an action chick when they could've added Launch and let her have that job?

That goes on my "never to be seen" list along with DOA film.

A piece of me just died. D:
I never really had expectations but that trailer wasn't even stupid enough
to laugh at. More of a "shakeyourheadandcry" feeling. Some of my favorite
characters are missing too. Damn.

I hate American adaptations of foreign stories/films. I don't really get the older
white male as the lead either--Goku is suppose to be more naive/younger looking.
where's the youth? gahh

Ok... So like my last speck of hope was dashed against the jagged rocks or reality when I saw what they did with piccolo...

Ugh... I feel sick.

It looks like some underfunded production company started making a bite off movie of DB, and to avoid law suits, they just called it dragonball.

I mean, if it wasn't a dragonball cop off, it might actually be good, but the name is just too big for any movie producer to live up to...

I guess if people who have NO IDEA what dragonball is or was, they might (and I say this generously) might not see it as a piece of crap.

You need to look at it again. Yamcha's actor looks pretty asian.

Quote from DearGodWhy
Not to be a witch, but they could find Asians to play most all the pivotal roles EXCEPT that of Goku!? This is the kind of ish I really hate about American Adaptations of stories from other countries. I mean, do we NOT have an Asian American population? Is this country so racist we wouldn't go to see a film that has an Asian kid as the lead?

P.S. I'm not Asian or White and this ish is offensive. no

Someone finally agrees with me on this. Thank you!

Now that I'm looking at the trailer again, WHO THE HELL IS MAI? There was no Mai in Dragonball! Or Z! Or GT! Why the hell are they adding characters now?

And I don't get why people on here are STILL going to spend their money on this movie even though they bash the trailer. The trailer of a movie is supposed to make you want to look forward to watching it! It's supposed to show you little tidbits of the movie that don't reveal much of the plot, but still look exciting enough to grab your attention! Since it's obviously not doing that for anybody, then there's no reason to pay for it at all.

If I ever see this movie, it's not going to be at the theater. It'll either be at a friend's house, or on my computer. WITHOUT PAYING A CENT FOR IT EITHER WAY.

Well if its any consolation, Asians aren't the only group who are knocked out roles that are specifically written with minority (for lack of better term) leads in mind. I mean take the movie "The Last Mohican" It was about native American. In our country we have lots of them, but they went all the way to England to get some British guy to play the LAST Mohican. And then Tom Cruise was the "Last Samurai" I'm just waiting for them to make " The Last Zulu" they can probably get someone like Gerard Butler from the movie 300 to play the part. lol...oh America how I love thee laugh

OMG I KNOW
honestly, they took the book Eragon, curb-stomped it, slashed it, through it off a cliff and burned it, turned it into a movie then fed it to the lions who crapped it out, and then they took that shit and put it in theaters -.-

yamcha is actually a former Korean pop start, so yeah, he's pretty asian. He was also in Speed Racer, one of the racers that he kinda screwed at the end.

anyway, i have nothing to say...all i'm going to do is go cry in some dark corner reading the first couple of volumes of Dragon Ball...and then slit my wrists with it's pages....

Well the trailer certainly sucks..but comeon we all knew this´d happen^^
And on another note....why the bitching about a "white" Goku? After all a white person is what resembles the manga the most! I really wonder why most mangaka tend to make their charas caucasian...hmhmhm
Anyways I´ll start a "STOP THE DB MOVIE" petition><

in tom cruises defense(never thought i would use those words) in "the last samurai" he played an american taken in by japanese community. not to ruin the plot but he was kind of like an foreign, unofficial samurai so it wasn't really a "replace the asian" thing like "21"
