I second this. Well-written, funny, clever and just super enjoyable.

NANA is the best one I've ever read but behind that I also like (in order of preference) :

7 seeds
Honey Bitter (from the same mangaka as Kodocha)
Yume no Shizuku, Ougon no Torikago (from the same Mangaka as Red River)
Parakiss
Nodame Cantabile
Chihayafuru
Seigi no Mitaka (funny)
Midnight Secretary
Kore wa koi no Hanashi
Cousin

How come nobody has mentioned MIZUTANI Fuka's works (14-sai no Koi, Game Over (MIZUTANI Fuka)) yet? They give off such a warm feeling.

I strongly second anything by OKAZAKI Mari (Shutter Love, &). Her art and storytelling never fail to create a unique atmosphere.

Yet my alltime favourite is Made in Heaven by SAKURAI Ami and YASHIKI Yukari. The story grows into such a complex and bittersweet tragedy over the course of two short volumes that I still remember it vividly.

To be savoured:
- Blood Alone by TAKANO Masayuki
- Otoyomegatari by MORI Kaoru
- Gangsta. by Kohske
- Seishun Kouryakuhon by AKIZUKI Sorata

I really like Kore wa Koi no Hanashi! The synopsis may turn a lot of people off initially, but I assure you it is not a tainted story; those people are definitely missing out. I recommend reading at least the first 2-3 chapters to get a feel for it. eyes

In the past I read tons of boys love, so I'm kinda new to the josei genre. Anyway, my favorites so far (more to come for sure):

Ashita no Ousama
Gokusen
Kimi wa Pet
Midnight Secretary

I seriously thought Liar x Liar was josei, but it's not. Still one of my fave almost josei's, but it doesn't seem the type that would suit everyone, since the story is based off of a huge lie that could theoretically be solved very easily.
Story of Someone We Know
14-Sai no Koi this one i would've thought of as shoujo but it's not. I guess I automatically think the main characters are in the age group they're supposed to appeal to xD

All three stories focus on being mostly simple, light-hearted cute romance. I really recommend them.
