I like manga. I started reading them as an alternative to American Comic Books (DC, Marvel, Image). I like to think I have a balaced life, I work 6 days per week and among my hobbies is reading from Manga and Comics to classic and modern literature; going to the Theater, opera, Movies. I like videogames, but also I like to play actual Football, Soccer, and Basketball; sometimes I go camping and climbing. Hahaha I love filling these out . Hmm, well, I started getting really involved with manga when I was in middle school.. wow, I can't believe it has been that long! Anyway, middle school was a tough time so I escaped by reading manga. As I grew older I grew more confident in myself and realized that I'm an attractive person, but manga still remains as a fun hobby. If you check my lists you can see that I read a lot of shoujo and yaoi . Funnily enough, manga and the Japanese culture in general have no affect on my social life. None of my friends are into it so I never talk about it with anyone. Unfortunately, the people that I do become acquainted with that have similar interests are usually weaboos .

I have also been self-studying Japanese since October 2011. I got tired of hearing "oh I wish I knew Japanese" and frustratingly waiting for translations so I took it upon myself to learn a third language. Doing pretty well. All the kana memorized (with decent reading speed), have over 600 kanji memorized but I'm doing the joujou kanji so it's going to take a few months, and already know basic Japanese words and grammar.

Anyway, enough of myself . Glad to see a large variety of readers here!
