 Josei is not appreciated enough.
Well as of right now, my favorite josei heroine is Noda~me <3
I like her bcuz she's funny and how she is so childish when it comes to...whatever his name is
 She is just one of a kind~
EDIT: And to make you guys actually write something, say why too! >:3

My heart also belongs to Nodame and her quirky ways <3 And though I really want to tell her to forget Chiaki and come to me instead, her affection for him is also a huge part of her character so I will persevere 8D
Also honourable mention to Hachi of Nana, though she has her (many) faults, I still find her lovable and can relate to her.

I prefer Sumir chan from Kimi wa Peto.... I just love her hang-ups!

Since my other faves were taken (Nodame, Sumire, Hachi), I'll throw in a vote for Yankumi from Gokusen. Yay for heriones that just don't take any nonsense and don't need to be rescued. Plus she's got that adorable denseness.
Kaya from Midnight Secretary also rocks for her insane levels of professionalism and integrity. Yay for non-flaky heroines
And probably doesn't count, but Rin from Usagi Drop should at least get an honorable mention for her sheer cool

The "evil" older sister from Seigi no Mikata. Some of you may have watched the drama, but her manga counterpart is less annoying and more amazing. 
I also love Shuurei from Saiunkoku Monogatari. She is smart, strong, and adorable.
And of course Sumire from Kimi wa Pet and Nodame from Nodame Cantabile -- I somehow identify with both of them although their personalities are polar opposites.
