i got around 117 at the highIQsociety, i hear their supposed to be good
and 127 at the "out of 60" test everybody keeps linking to
either these tests are screwed or apparently reading manga makes people smarter

I got the same result 58/60 =131IQ with the same problem with question 58. I'm sure i found a pattern and had the right answer (8 not 4).

maybe the fact that you read manga might give you your answer, considering that you might have picked up the ability to pick up fine detail ( i got 131 woot)
that is what i think anyway

IMHO, it's not the Internet IQ tests that are a scam... It's IQ tests as a whole...
I mean they are supposed to test what? your logic? well I could, for example, get a totally different answer than the one they where waiting for yet logical in it's own way. And actually I think that people that are able to think "different" are those who have the greatest potential for great achievement.
And if it is to test stuff like language skills, what about people like me? I have no real native tongue, I learned dozens of languages when I was kid, forgot most of them... and I don't have one of the 4 remaining I can use that I can say I'm a master at... does that make dumber than someone that can only speak one language perfectly? I don't feel that way...
Is the ability to do relatively simple mathematic operation mentally a form of intelligence? maybe... but what's the point? Calculators can do that for you... and I've never been the best at that stuff... yet nobody was better than me in math. I just leave the dumb math to the calculator, and concentrate on solving the real question...
And I just don't understand how they can give us sometimes math exams where we can't use a calculator... I mean that's so STUPID. What are tests for? to test our ability in a close to real-life situation or test our ability to do math while stranded on a deserted island? I'm sure that the being able to find the square root of a 23 digit number is so going to help you catch that fish...
In a real life situation, you'll have access to all the material you might need, including computers, Internet, books, calculators help from friends etc...
anyway... IMO, all tests are stupid and useless, some more than others... and IQ tests are actually the worst in my book... I know we don't any other alternative right now. Doesn't mean we shouldn't look for one, and take the results from those tests as if they where divine revelation.
I took that test out of curiosity... but don't worry about my e-mail... I have 10 different emails... each one has it purpose, and one of them is a spam box. (and they didn't ask for any e-mail address anyway)
P.S. I may have said stupid stuff in this post, please don't mind it... I'm just venting my frustration at the education system... and the fact that I didn't sleep last night and that it's already 2 am here is not helping... Sorry need to go to sleep... after this last chapter...
I.Q. tests check your ability to store and recall information. Most times they show you a problem and tell you to figure it out. Sometimes they'll show you a question that purposely does have multiple answers, all right in they're own sense, but one that makes more sense than the others. You're goal on that one is to root out the wrong answer or answers and then figure out which one is the proper answer that leads to the most points on the test.
I don't like tests, myself, and am rather lazy when it comes down to actually being intelligent. I'd rather use a calculator to figure something out than do it myself. Not because I can't, but rather that I can achieve my goal of getting the answer faster with the calculator.
Alot of intelligent people are that. Albert Einstein was a lazy slob, yet he's considered one of the greatest genius' of all time.
Getting an I.Q. test done should only be a matter for personal reference. There are not that many uses of knowing it, other than bragging about it. I, myself, hardly ever mention it. Some of my friends don't even know it, mostly because I purposly hardly ever use my Intelligence, I am lazy like that.
The point I was trying to make is that most online tests I have seen are BS. They ask random questions of general knowledge and give you a random number based on how many you get correct.
The actual test is much harder than that, trust me. Studying for it hardly even helps, too.
If you really wanna know your true I.Q., get the actual test done. If you don't care and wanna take a random online test, don't be disappointed later on if you find out it was wrong.

I tried that test to... It was actually pretty easy,(and boring... are you sure they are not just checking if we are drunk?)
I did 60/60 so according to them I have at least 135 of IQ... that's an IQ test of very low ceiling. And as I said before I don't take that result seriously as I don't believe in those tests...
@lilchocunut, for that one, from left to right, up to down:
all the spikes that "move" from the first one on the line to make the second one are removed...
or that's how I saw it...

i don't believe in the results of online tests, but they're fun anyways =] (for perhaps the loveliness of procrastination and sometimes seeing pretty pictures)

Hehehe, I think mine's 118, but the last IQ test I took was done in English, which isn't my primary language, so it probably had some influence in the result.

Hmm... that test rated me as 129, so in the high 120's as well... But I guess Stealth is right, internet tests aren't a good way to measure IQ. So I don't know what my real IQ is at all, and I don't think I want to go schedule an actual test.

I don't think this test is really accurate. Having questions about facts and trivia isn't very good in an itelligence test, because that just measures how much you know, not your actual IQ.
But well, that's just my opinion
