But its just people making things out of nothing in my opinion. I believe they exaggerate these words --- "Manaka and Nishino's Future is more suspect. Its hard to succeed in love but its also hard to keep it" People who call this an open-ending tend to focus on these words too much, and tend to overlook these words said by the author on the same page, at the same time ---" So....And thus I try to threaten you (Just kidding! Their future is bright too!") which, in other words mean that its not really an open ending and like I said, even if they did break-up, its highly unlikely that Manaka will immediately turn his attention or affection on Toujo/Satsuki
Even if the author hadn't said so, Nishino's character makes me want to believe that they would not break up so easily as Nishino and Manaka have both achieved their dreams and they both are used to being apart, work and go to different schools, a seperation of 4 years, and be in a relationship despite that, mainly because of Nishino's determination to keep being his girlfriend, make time for him despite her work, call him and whatever it takes for her to be with him and now even Manaka is also dedicated in their relationship and if both the people are dedicated enough as Tsukasa has been from the beginning of their relationship and as now even Manaka is dedicated in it as well, I must say that they are really happy with each other and their futures are bright too. What I mean to say, I guess that its nothing new for Nishino and Junpei to be in a relationship while working and they are used to it and in each other and unless a really big fight ensues between them, they should have a relatively stable relationship and a serious fight between them is going to be tough as Nishino will never keep anything within herself and Manaka knows better than to keep things from Nishino and is natural enough around her
This really shouldn't make much sense, as I don't even know myself where I was intending to go with all that. So its just useless ranting I guess

Lol it makes me no surprise that the ending of ichigo 100% is still a mater of debate

i wish super sexy and marvelous Satsuki Kitaoji was end up hapily with stupid Junpei (even he dosent deserves nobody ¬¬ and satsuky its just an angel that deserves a man up to her pure heart!!! She maybe a hottie *¬* and shows a bit too much underwear, but her heart and underwear are aimed at only one man heart and eyes

why Satsuki Kitaoji? she knows what she whants, goes straigt like a misile gided to her male target and with no regrets confess all her love <3 I wish all girls where like this, and I as a boy trying to be as sincere as her ^^ but with no results T_T

@kisstine I don't mean end up with yui. Just that I'm probably stereotyping that all childhood friends in this genre must have a romantic relationship with the protagonist before making him realise his true feelings for the female lead. If I rmb correctly, there had been some moments where the mangaka could have easily made them fall in love with each other but I guess the mangaka doesn't want a cliche(duh). I just wished that she could be shown at the reunion(somehow) cuz I wan to Noe what happened to her future, she's in the same year as chinami and misuzu rit? So I wan to noe if she has accomplished her dreams(I think it's not mentioned)whatever they may be since on of the theme of the series is about accomplishing dreams.

Hmm does a yui fan mean I wan a manaka x yui ending? If so then I'm not a yui but a nishino fan>< I just like characters like yui who are cute in apperarance and sometimes airheaded haha, like minori of toradora, the big sis of hajimete no aku, minori of toradora, well u get what I mean.

@chulian1819 no offense but from the way the story is told, satsuki's straightforward behaviour makes me dislike her a little. I liked her in the beginning until she swore the eternal friendship with manaka and after manaka rejected her when she realised that it's an unrequited love.

@Kisstine, you are still an Aya-Fan, but not a hardcore one as you listened to our reasonings, gave some of your own ones(to which we listened), and finally drew your own conclusion to see why Nishino was more compatible with Manaka and why Aya didn't get Manaka. In fact, I seem to remember reading in your very first post that after you finished reading Ichigo100% and cooling down abit, you realised that Nishino's personality suited Manaka better on your own but you just had that feeling but couldn't say why you thought like that and I believe after discussing you finally realised the "whys and what-nots" as an answer to the question -----
Why it was Nishino and why not Aya and how it all came about?
You still like Aya better and you didn't switch but you also see how good a character Nishino is and how good a manga Ichigo100% is and why it ended the way it did. So you are just a fan who likes Aya but not exactly a fanatic fan instead you are more of a hardcore Ichigo100% fan. Did that explanation help you?

BTW, I liked Yui too and I agree that there were quite a few situations where it could have easily gone into Yui and Manaka in a relationship kind of thing but I guess, later on Yui acted more like Manaka's younger sister. Even I wanted to know more "Exactly" about Nishino and Manaka getting their life back together and possibly living together(which I have no doubt that they will), Nishino making name in the pastry world , Manaka make a movie out of Toujo's book,Toujo getting a worthy boyfriend and Satsuki owning a chain of restaurants with a caring boyfriend at her side. Finally at the end I would've loved to see Nishino in a wedding dress(ooh I really wonder how she would've looked) and all of them getting together in Nishino and Manaka's wedding with the old film-club all together where each member is now satisfied and happy with both their romantic and career lives. Now that would've been a perfect ending

Yea everyone ending paired up with someone would be just the perfect ending wouldn't it. Hmm was there any part in the manga where nishino and manaka were looking at a wedding dress? I can't rmb or maybe I mixed it up with another manga.

Eh now that I think about it, the reason why the mangaka didn't want yui and manaka to be lovers is that usually after the childhood friend romance is resolved, the friend usually disappears for good and only return at the end to congratulate the protagonist. which means to say that if manaka x yui were to happen during the time when manaka rescued yui at her house, there wouldn't be a double date with ookusa which let us know that actually nishino still loves manaka(although the managaka could have used another incident to tell us this). and also if yui was gone, i guess there wouldn't be anyone to cause manaka to solve things with toujo in the cause of the bra thing? So I'm thinking that it's probably alright if she and manaka weren't lovers.

I agree that the ending felt rushed, she could have at least drawn a 40+ pages ending just like the beginning ><

5. Did Junpei and Nishino have communication during the 4 years after graduation? If I read it right Nishino said she won't contact Junpei while in france. It's a bit unrealistic for them not to forget their relationship and find another if they have no communication.


4. ...but by the ending, i feel like when i read the last volume, it seems like its not ichigo 100% anymore...more like ichigo 75%
coz the appearance of another girl (like nishino) supposed to be some kind of obstacle to reach the completion of the main mission...
the main mission is clearly stated in the title, ichigo 100%...so its about the strawberry girl, that girl is toujo...not nishino...
so i should say that the mission failed in the last volume and became ichigo 75%


3. "I wonder what would have happened if she had not said that she had moved on (163)"...this proves Manaka's love for Toujou is far greater than Nishino's.

He did love her more in most part of the manga but I refuse to believe that he loved Aya more after choosing Nishino and I think that's what effects when you are kissed by your frst love? How would you go about figuring this one out?

In this case, the girl has to be more active in pursuing.

Nah, that's not my views, its what most Aya fans thinking that I collected and ranked after arguing against them on these points. And I must say most of my answers shut them up but they still continued to rant unreasonably LOL. I just wanted to show Kisstine an unreasonablr fanatical Aya fan's way of thinking.

I though the cutest moments in Ichigo100% was mostly between Manaka and Nishino. Nishino definitely made the cutest gestures with Manaka like asking for a handshake, kissing him on the cheek, hitting him with the shoe right before jumping into his arms, making bitter chocolates so that she could take away the bitterness, blocking up his nose while he was sleeping, having a snowball fight, hiding his porn collection and not telling him while Manaka chases after her, the hug she gave him when he was misunderstanding about Higure and then breaking up into laughter because Junpei's heart was racing very fast, telling him while taking a snap of his sleeping face and we see tons of expressions on Nishino's face, from mad,cheerful, shy, passionate and tons more. While on Aya we either see shyness, nervous and fearful expressions all the time, it was very rare to see Aya have different expressions on her face.LoL
I must say I am highly biased, but I honestly believe Nishino put on all sorts of different facial expressions and gestures, while Aya's facial expressions almost always revolved around that shy and fearful one through most part of the manga, although her klutzy ways were cute, though
