What is the best way to translate a dialect or accent of the original language that is not the norm (e.g., Kansai-ben)?
Different country's English accent (e.g., Irish or Australian)
Different American regional accent (e.g., Southern)
Have the character use different slang (e.g., 'pops' instead of 'dad')
Minor speech pattern differences (e.g., dropping the 'g' in '-ing' words)

To answer your question, I joined because this was the ONLY manga information site where people had intelligent conversations in most of the posts. That, and the fact that it wasn't like this:

ANIME SUCKS, WHY?

I have to agree that the ppl in this forum post reasonable and On-topic non-spam posts when doing discussions.

Kinda reminds me of the worthy posts in Arlongpark forums and trashy posts in Msngroups onepiece...we can tell the difference..xD

i joined cuz i have the memory capacity of a bucket with no bottom and the My List helps me keep track of what i red and stuff

I think I joined at first solely because I wanted to be able to filter stuff off of the release page. Then I decided the list feature was helpful, and then finally I realized the people in the forum knew what they were talking about in terms of manga, and so I decided to become active here.

I joined to keep track of the manga I am reading... Since my previous method was just a big hastle. And also to keep track of manga I want to read in the future. That's why I don't pop up on the forums too often... Only when I am bored and find a topic that I want to say something about.

And also I tend to roam the forums on manga I read to see if people are discussing something I didn't quite understand... I did that even before I joined.

same here. not to mention the convenience if i ever face a catastrophe in which i must leave MU i might someday come upon this website again and i'll still have a record of all of the mangas i've read/wanted to read/banned from my memory.
