When im in the mood for Shoujo then i read some of it.
But if the manga is too similar to other Shoujos, like it has the same pattern, then its kinda annoying.
When looking for a new manga to read then i always read the summary and see if there is anything that would interest me other then just the cover page and genres/categories.
Im always looking for a new kind of Shoujo to read. :3

i don't 'totally hate shoujo because not all of shoujo mangas are a bad to read. some maybe good. some maybe bad. some got weak or annoying heroines, some got strong and stubborn ones. some story plots are very cliche, some are unique. it depends upon the person reading it. if it his cup of tea, then he will love it. if it isn't, then he'll find another one.

but really, shoujo isn't that bad.

Even if you don't especially like shoujo and don't read it, I can't see why you'd flat out hate it. Has it wronged you personally somehow?

I hate cliché-shoujo. But then again, I hate clichés in any kind of manga.

I avoid shoujo manga, the art just burns my eyes out... I just can't stand it. The very few I tried to read didn't do me any good either. I dislike shoujo, I don't like the characters and predictability.

I don't hate Shoujo, but I am careful which ones I chose to read. Many are very predictable and have very similar stories and plot points and I hate a high school setting. Saying that there are still good Shoujo out there you just have to look harder and wade through the drivel, which is true for any genre. As for the art, it really does not bother me that much, but there is a big different in Shoujo art compared to other types of manga, but as long as it is clean and you can tell what is going on im fine with it.

Don't like the art, but don't mind it if it's good.

I don't hate shoujo, but sometimes I just want to step in there and give the main character a good beating.

I really hate it when a female rival appears and the main girl is like "oh no, what do I do, I'm really jealous but I can't tell him because I don't want him to think I'm annoying, and I don't have the guts to tell that girl that he's mine and that she better back off, so I'm getting all depressed by myself 'cause he doesn't tell her off".

Are you f***ing kidding me?!!
First of all, it's normal to be jealous in that kind of situation; if you don't get jealous, you don't care.
Secondly, if he thinks you're annoying just because of that, he never really loved you in the first place and you're better off without him; if he really loves you, he'd be happy you got jealous for his sake.
Thirdly, if you don't like it then do something about it, I really don't get how the girl can just sit back and watch some other girl try and steal away her boyfriend; I don't know about you guys, but I'd tell her to back off and that she can go die for all I care.
Lastly, you were equipped with a mouth for another reason than just eating; how can he possibly know that you're not okay with it, if you don't tell him (guys often don't pick up on a girl's signals of dissatisfaction).

Another thing I do hate about shoujo manga is those sleazy, backstabbing, cowardly fangirls who bully the girlfriend of the guy they like; if you can't fight head-on you have no right to be interfering, and those bullying methods, are they still in gradeschool?! I've seen five-year-olds act more mature.
And didn't the guy pick that girl himself, doesn't he have the right to choose his own partner? What right does anyone have to interfere with that?
I also hate the girlfriend who falls for that kind of dirty tricks; I mean, show some back-bone!

These kinds of weak female leads just piss me off.

Also, in shoujo manga there seems to be this obsession with guys having to be tall, broad-shouldered, and have large hands. Does that even matter?! I always thought that personality was the most important part of a relationship. Personally I would prefer someone closer to my own size; I don't like feeling like I'm some sort of dwarf, 'cause I'm not.

And whenever there is a student-teacher relationship there is always this juxtaposition of "child" vs "adult"; a sixteen-year-old is not a child, so stop treating her like one. And many times "adults" sure don't act like adults, so stop stressing the fact that they're a little older. Before they're student and teacher, they're woman and man, and it's not like a seven-year age difference is something outrageous, it happens all the time.
This juxtaposition of "child"-"adult" is also really annoying.

But I still can't stop reading shoujo manga, 'cause I like romance stories; though I also read josei, and occasionally shounen and seinen, whatever seems interesting.
