Accept it, while trying to smile...
it usually will end up in a closet somewhere though >.<;;;
But I'm usually very easy to please, so it's hard for me to get presents I don't like~ ^^ XDD
Most common reaction -> "Yeah~! Presents~! <3" *before opening*
I guess I like presents the most when they are all wrapped up XDD >.<;;;

Well after accepting the thoughtful gift I place it in a secret location ensuring that I have it for years. So years later when I find and donate it to goodwill I am guilt free. eyes

I put accept it, but honestly I would accept it then decide which route to take.
A) Sell it.
B) Re-gift it
C) Throw it away
D) Hide it and hope it never sees sunlight again. (This is only if I can't do the above).
E) Tell the person giving the gift this is horrible and I can't accept it - This is after a while of digesting how horrible of a gift it was, and shocked to even get such a gift.

I usually just put it store it deep in my drawers or closet, and just leave it there for gods know how long.

Then when I have a massive clean-up day (where I just pull everything out of every drawer and sort out what I'm going to throw out or keep, then rearrange everything), I find myself usually just throw it away.

I don't usually feel guilt or anything because, hey, it's been a long time, the sentiment is gone now; faded away.

But if it's still looked okay, (e.g. clothes that still looked gift-presentable), I give them to my best friend or my neighbour (she's a little girl, so my old clothes that I hardly wore will fit her).

Anything from my family and close cousins, I keep them, even if it's broken and/or missing a piece somewhere

Sometimes if it's possible I would re-gift the present or just put it away somewhere in a drawer.

I usually tell them I don't like it....While trying not to hurt their feelings and let them decide what to do with it. Usually the people who buy me gifts are fine with that. If the person giving the gift is one of the unreasonable few who don't listen hide it then get rid of it.

Usually I just put it somewhere and forget about it, but if it's like ugly clothes or something I wear it once to show the person that got it for me they didn't waste their money, and then never pull it out again.

I keep it. I would feel bad if I re-gift them.

I do think you should tell the person if you don't like them, I never do and right now am facing a bit of a dilemma. My stepfather bought me a dressy coat and a pair of boots last week and they are both a crime against fashion. Not only do they crash horribly together, but alone they are also even more atrocious. He says he can't wait to see me on Christmas when I will be wearing the outfit. I think it's too late now to tell him how much I hate it especially after raving about how much I looooove it. @_@

I accept it.
The person who give the gift must spend a lot to give it to me (I mean spending time, money, thoughts, etc), and it's still their way to thank/congratulate me so I would still accept it.
