Whether the other is an otaku or not doesn't matter...but with that answer, it's already yes to an extent so I don't see the point of having a maybe option

Always depends on the person. I don't really see otaku as a plus or a minus.
Fujoshi can be really scary at times though...
No relationship at the moment, in any case.

Quote from blakraven66 Whether the other is an otaku or not doesn't matter...but with that answer, it's already a yes so I don't see the point of that maybe option Agreed. It's basically a yes or no question, where maybe = yes. But, I guess I'd still answer maybe.

Depends. It's like a shared interest...

I rather date someone who has never read manga before in their life, like I do now. So definitely not some pervy otaku.

Well im somewhat of an otaku myself so the answer might be yes but the fact that she is a otaku really doesn't matter it has more to do with our shared interests and beliefs than a label. Moreover im already in a relationship with a complete otaku belive it or not.
might also want to say that shes the one that got me into this kinda stuff.

I like anime and manga waaay too much >.<
So the person I'm dating would have to at least tolerate my short spazzez or addictions I have from time to time on certain series (not that I can't control myself, but I'd rather be myself)
An otaku just may understand what I go through :3 Or maybe not. Depends on the person.

I guess, then they would be able to tolerate my own otakuness. But I doubt the guy would be very okay with my yaoi interests ^_^

I don't date people for what they are but because of who they are. For all I care that person can be anything, as long as we get well along.

If you ask a question, giving anyone the maybe option is a mistake... unless you are an university teacher and the maybe answer is actually wrong and you want to trick slow brained students >_>

I myself am not sure exactly what the term "Otaku" rully inquires. I'm an 18 year old guy that greatly enjoys reading manga and watching the occassional good anime. I've never done cosplay nor gone to any events. I don't "love" any character I witness in a series. I'm in college, and I don't bother trying to hide my habit or anything, but it isnt like I go around yelling out I love japanese thing's (oh god the food is awesome). So I suppose, dating an otaku is completely normal, everyone has their quirk's, just so long as there not the....."crazy" kind of otaku ne? =)
Lol, as some of my closest friends tell me, "Once we realized your fetish for japanese stuff, you can tell what he's thinking most of the time." lol

Being an otaku or not really doesn't matter much to me.

A girl would definitely be more attractive to me if we shared some hobbies in common; as anime, manga and video games are really my only hobbies, I guess I would rather like to date an otaku.
Actually, on second thought, a casual anime fan might be better. Once they get to the otaku level fangirls can be quite scary.
