It is... A bit at least. It has some elements for sure. Only butthurt people would state it doesn't have any elements though it is not as obvious as the most recent work from the same author.

well for me it seems it's a deconstruction
because the main guy is accused sometimes by people that don't know (him/about his situation) and he seems shocked by it
yeah a special relation can be born between and adult and child
i bet Freudian psychology (that try to explain everything with libido) has just made people overly suspicious about any relationship no matter how innocent it maybe ...
if you try to follow that Freudian thinking than how will you explain friendship ?
hetero/gay love??

A great secret of the USA is that we don't need official censors. A whiff of loli, once pointed out in anything, will have online hosts dropping it, and, yes scanlators giving up scanlating it. I bet that's what happened with this one.

That same whiff in Japan would be nothing. They seem to be able to separate, as we cannot manage to do over here, stuff INSIDE some-one's head from stuff outside it. Morality is supposed to keep people from DOING things, not just thinking things. The Japanese, apparently knowing this, let some fictions be coined from author's heads and flow through the heads of readers with little whiffs of loli-type feeling attached.

People are more complex, inside their heads, than a rigid morality that tries to police those interiors ever allows for. That knowledge is apparently something that an ancient civilization like Japan possesses.

Nah for Aiko Desho the scanlators doing it are no more, so nobody is translating it anymore.
On another note there's quite a few mistakes in the manga infos, Aiko is not 8, the Japanese wiki mentions this manga is a "Pure love comedy of 14 years of difference". Suimei is 18. Make the calculation and you'll know her actual age.

Been a long time since the last post here, but had to comment on the loli discussion here.

Aiko Desho is not loli. A loli is aged as 5/6-12 or school age. Aiko would go under toddlercon since they are from age 1-4 or kindergarten.

Of course, i really don´t see how this Manga is loli or toddlercon oriented just because it´s about a man working in a kindergarten....

She's 5 actually it's been stated during the manga. So she counts as loli. And the manga itself isn't a fanservice manga, it's more like a romance, so I guess it all depends if you count loli romance as something to tag loli or not.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Aiko and Suimei ends up marrying eventually.

Coincidentally, I just finished reading the manga. The ending is incredibly sweet and touching.

AFAIK, lolicon is, when someone likes anything that's a loli.
When he/she prefers somebody because she's a loli.
And usually, in a sexual way...

Just when people will understand that even if there's a hint of romance with a loli, doesn't mean that it's a lolicon story? It's like how in manga when a chara interacts with a loli, people around him will immediately say he's a lolicon...
