Do you guys have any annoyances you encounter when reading a manga?
Scanlations:
-Inconsistent Naming: I like to extract a whole volume in a single folder when I'm reading, so when a 5 chapter volume released by the same group have 5 different naming conventions, it annoys the heck out of me to rename them. Is it so hard to set up a naming convention within a single group?
Physical books:
-Mis-aligned/Low Ink Pages: Funny how the ads never have such problems
-Untranslated Sound Effects and/or Signs: I'm the type of person who wants to know what's written in everything, including sound effects and what's on signs/boards.
-Converted Jokes: You know, replacing a japanese joke by an American one. I'd rather have what was originally written along with an explanation.
-Censoring/Edits:

Sure, you're right. Sometimes there are things that bother the reader, but what can we do? Nothing. It is the editors choice how he or she presents it. And also, it's not the scanners fault if the scans come out bad. Sometimes the manga issue is printed that way, or the scanners broken. We can't blame the scanlators! It's not their job, they don't get paid. These scanlators are provided because they are fans and would like to show other fans how excited they are. =( Well, if they did do all you said, the releases would take much longer.

For all the bottom ones, Decel was talking about the real physical books...

Almost all the scanlation groups and scanlators do these things as a 'hobby' unless there's a scenario where one person's bored enough to pay others to translate manga that's not even theirs.
I mean sometimes I dislike the fact that the scanned pages are so small, but I don't blame the people for scanning it directly from the book.
so yeah, anyways I almost never have those problems

Geh, everyone's so damn negative, I only meant this to be a light topic of discussion.
Pet peave <<< active criticism, at least in my books.
Also, people can't -or don't bother to- read the complete post before replying...
