I was very impressed with the Death Note film. The guy they got for L was soooo perfect, although Raito should have been hotter, IMO. Unfortunately, only half of the movie was released fansub wise so far. I hope the rest gets subbed soon. ^_^ *pwease*

Ping Pong was fairly good and I loved Blue Spring; even if it was only loosely based on the manga and acted more as a prequel.
Koroshiya Ichi was pretty good/nuts too; though after reading the manga I like that more.

I kinda enjoyed the Gundam movie, even if only to geek out about the pretty awesome special effects.

The Guyver movie's weren't that bad (The second one had David Hayter (Solid Snake) as The Guyver).

Fist of the North Star wasn't that great, though.

The Dragon Ball movie sucked, plain and simple.

Battle Royale 1 and 2 were excellent, and dramatic.

Ichi was ok.

Initial D was pretty good, but the plot skipped past alot of events and crammed alot into one movie (Too much, I think).

Still need to see the Death Note movies.

If live-action movies are allowed, Koi No Mon was awesome.

Koi no mon is based on the manga "Koi no mon" I believe. "Otakus in love".

It isn't a musical really, but it does have a scene where all the characters break out into song and dance. If I had to explain it... I couldn't laugh.

Hmm i really dont know why people actaully liked the Ichi the Killer live-action movie. I've read all of the manga then watched the movie and I really hated it. They tryed to cram the whole 10 volumes into one movie and because of that, it was just awful in many many areas.

Also, just so you know, Battle Royale shouldn't really count, because it didnt start as a manga first. Battle Royale started as a novel that became very famous that then went and had a manga and movie made (i thought the movie was "ok"). Also i hear that they are going to be making an american version of Battle Royale aswell (yay... -_- ....).

I havent watched the first Death Note movie yet, but it looks "ok" and the second one looks really lame to me (its looks more like a tv drama then a movie).

Also as Daed brought up, they are actually going to be making a 20th Century Boys movie, which i learnd not that long ago (i really dont know how the hell they are actaully going to be abil to make a movie on that manga though....). Also i learned sometime ago that they are making a Monster movie and i remmber hearing that they already have two movies plained for it.

Does anybody Know if they are still "actaully" going to be making that Dragonball Z movie and the Evangelion movie still?

I never liked the Guyver movies.

Theres also a Devil Man and Cutie Honey live action movie aswell.

Theres that Transformores movie that looks pretty damn cool (but i dont think that Transformores started out as a manga though).

Theres plenty of movies on Kazuo Umazu and Junji Ito's stuff. Like Left Hand of God, Right Hand of the Devil, Uzumaki, a few on Tomie, and so on. Also heres a fun little video review i found on the Drifting Classroom http://surrealu.blogspot.com/2006/12/i-miss-80s-version-of-japan-an d-i.html it doesnt look anything like the manga at all (im rather insalted by the live-action movie).

And there was aslo a movie on Dragon Head aswell.

Thats all that i can think of right now.

wow. thanks for the drifting classroom link. great fun.
dunno what insalted means , but i agree, golden shower musical has little to do with the manga..

and what do we need an american battle royale remake for??
damn those americans.

>.< opps, i meant "insulted", lol. Also, from what i heard, the movie will be made by the guys who did The Fast and the Furious (you just know its going to be bad sad).

Oh yeah, i just remembered that theres also a live action movie on GTO aswell.
