This was pathetic. The lulz lasted 5 minutes, now it's bothersome.

How come they haven't cancelled this thing already? Or better yet, how come they stopped provinding him the cocaine he was consuming when he first thought of the original Airgear. Remember? The one with rollers and tricks which which were, well ... tricks, and not goku-super-powers that involve killing half the human population when used.

Remember the 180° Moon-Walk or the Wall-Ride? Those were the times, dude... *sighs*

That's true. Tenjou Tenge and Air Gear have strayed far off from their original intent. And yeah, he's probably happy about Obama's victory so he inserted him into his manga.

@HolyAvenger
Well technically... Pile Tornado is a trick...
But I still agree with what your saying.
Hopefully the writer will bring back the cocaine and get off the acid... Cause it feels like an Acid trip whenever I read this manga.

Lol. This is surely one of the most stupidest chapters I've ever read, and I can tell you that I've years reading manga. XD

I agree. Although he probably was rooting for him a while ago since there's a chapter where OMAHA appears in posters. XD

The manga would've turned out better if the plot wasn't dragging and dragging without resolving anything from the previous chapters.... =___=
I'm quite disappointed on the manga so far...

Ok, so I finally figured it out.
This group that has been scantalating the recent Air Gear chapters have terrible grammar, sentence structure... just bad translations.

So i decided to read Sora scans, and things make ALOT more sense... granted it's still terribly hard to understand, but its still a step up from whatever I was reading before.

Unless you know Japanese and can directly assess the accuracy of our translations, please don't insult us. We've compared Sora Scans' work to our own, and can say that, for the most part, 1) it's no easier to understand than ours, and 2) any areas that do make sense where ours don't were taken loosely where we take it literally. If you want to make a comparison for 227, look at the explanation of quantum encryption on page 4 -- it's a good example of how literal vs overly-idiomatic (i.e. loose) translations differ.

In other words, our translations are very literal. We're working on this, to try and make them more idiomatic, but be assured that the translations are pretty accurate. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean the translations are easy to read. Air Gear is much, much harder than the other series we work on (and we work on seinen, too -- see Ikigami), just because of how the author writes.

Also, as the editor of NSN, I can assure you that my grammar and sentence structure is generally correct (barring typos and trail-off sentences).

Anyway, Air Gear is a pretty difficult series to understand. Reading two separate translations is probably a good idea, simply because it'll give you the insight from both translators. And, comparing the chapters, I can say that there are parts where Sora Scans' version makes less sense than ours, and vice versa.

I wasn't trying to insult anyone.
I'm not a Japanese expert, I don't know whats going on in the background, and I don't know how literal any group is at their translations.

That doesn't change the fact that I find some groups better than others in getting the whole point across to an English native like myself.

If you find our translations hard to understand, please contact us directly so we can work on improving their intelligibility. It's harder for me to spot the issues, even though I'm an English native as well, since I'm used to how our translator writes and how the author of Air Gear works, so constructive criticism is pretty valuable to improving the process.

However, openly insulting us on a public board doesn't help the situation. I would encourage you, and anyone who reads scanlations, to contact the scanlators directly (our email is nihil.sine.nefas (at) gmail [dot] com, for reference) with issues. Bitching on forums where you think they won't read what you write only makes things worse.

In other words, I have no problem with you disliking our translation. I just wish you (and others -- don't feel singled out, please) would be constructive, not destructive, with your criticism -- the manga community should stick together, not dissolve into drama and flame wars.
