New Online Magazine released

Tokyopop has launched the first edition of its manga magazine Takuhai Online .

After subscribing for the free account, the magazine allows you to preview Tokyopop's new and current manga releases.

Also, they are supplyingothere features such as interview's from Manga artists, letters from fans and information to keep people upto date with their latest news.

Definately worth a look, just to see which new scans are worth us seeking out for you all.

On a personal note, considering how rarely some of the American manga suppliers update their news, it's good that Tokyopop are starting to really embrace their website, hopefully other companies (Like Del Rey , viz and Shonen Jump) are taking note.

Thanks Tokyopop!

Private Messenger

I wrote a small addition to the site today, the private messenger, which you can access by clicking on "My Inbox" on the side menu. It is very beta... and I will be periodically fixing it over the next couple days. At the moment, you can only PM staff, (or people on the about us page), so that's a downside, but at least it gives the staff a better means of communication with the users, as previously there was no way to respond to change requests. A new message indicator will be displayed to the right of the logout link if you happen to have new messages. The system works kinda like a combined private messenger/support ticket system, so I hope it's not too hard to figure out.

New Poll

Here are the results to the last poll. A pretty generic question, yes I know. The next poll question is something about which I've always wondered. Let us know how you feel! Your thoughts are very instrumental in deciding future site plans and expansions.

Question: What do you think of the new authors section?
Choices:
I like it! - votes: 591 (65.3%)
It's okay... - votes: 260 (28.7%)
I don't like it. - votes: 54 (6%)
There were 905 total votes.
The poll ended: July 25th 2005

Dark horse upcoming releases

wellzy4eva writes: *At the San Diego Comic-Con International Dark Horse Comics announced a number of new manga titles.

The most prominent of the new titles in America is Masamune Shirow's Ghost in the Shell 1.5: Human-Error Processor, a series of stories originally serialized as part of Ghost in the Shell 2 but not included by Shirow in the Ghost in the Shell 2: Man-Machine Interface collection. The stories, which include "Fat Cat" from 1991, "Drive Slave" from 1992, "Mines of Mind" from 1995, and "Lost Past" from 1996 will be published by Dark Horse in the spring of 2006.

In January of 2006 Dark Horse will also publish the Gungrave Anime Manga, based on screen captures from the popular gangster/sci fi anime series.
