Asagiri received the 1987 Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo for Nanairo Magic "Seven Colors Magic".
After she had a car accident and was in hospital, Asagiri realized that she should write the stories she always wanted to do rather than the "typical" shoujo manga she was "forced to do". She then started to create adult works and Boys' Love.
She died on 27th October, 2018 from severe pneumonia.
