Debuted in 1969 with Twilight Zone in Shuukan Shounen Jump after being an assistant for Tezuka Osamu for a year.
His series Worst was met with critical acclaim, but success eluded him and he frequently ran into trouble with censorship. Several of his series were cancelled and he finally turned his back on mainstream shounen in 1978.
Since then he has written only a handful of manga on historical and religious topics.
He passed away in 2017.
