Debuted in 1989 with "Iron Hawk" in Jump Original. He had a minor hit the following year with Bad Boy Memory.
In the first half of the 2000's he exclusively drew Pachinko manga.
Okamura is also a renowned insect researcher and expert on the stag beetle. He owns a beetle-themed pet shop and has given lectures on beetles at home and abroad. In 2010 the Kyorin University made him an external advisor.
Friends with ASADA Hiroyuki.
