One of KOIKE Kazuo’s Gekiga Sonjuku inaugural students along with TAKAHASHI Rumiko, AKANE Koka, CARIBU Marley, SAKUMA Akira, KIKUCHI Hideyuki, KUDO Kazuya, KATAOKA Tetsuji, SHIKI Takashi, TANAKA Akio, SAOTOME Masayuki, MIYAOKA Hiroshi and TAKEDA Masatoshi.
KAWAI Tan, YAMADA Takatoshi and MIYASU Nonki were his college friends.
After graduating from university he worked as assistant of HARUKI Etsumi. He also assisted Takahashi at the beginning of Urusei Yatsura.
Among his assistants there were TAMAKI Hisao and KOIO Minato.
