Once used the pseudonym, HIJIKATA Shigeru (土方茂). Have been making illustration and concept designs under the pseudonym Mizuya Misa x Mizuya Yoka (水屋美沙×水屋洋花)

He was an assistant to Tsugihara Ryuji on Super Patrol and Niwano Makoto on The Momotaroh.

WATSUKI Nobuhiro was his assistant on Majin Boukentan Lamp Lamp and Rikijin Densetsu.
MURATA Yuusuke, HINOKI Kazushi, ANDOU Ei, YAGUCHI Takashi and YABUKI Kentaro were his assistants on Hikaru no Go.
KYOUDA Kahiro, SONODA Tatsunosuke & OGAWA Ryou were his assistants on Death Note.

In 2000, in the spring issue of "Comickers" by Bijutsu Shuppansha, he formed a unit called "Mizugame Three" with his friends Tajima Shou and Asada Hiroyuki.

Morita Masanori is a close friend of his. They collaborated on oneshot Hello Baby in 2007.

He drew the cover of 2007 version of No Longer Human by Dazai Osamu.
