Beijiner born in Calcutta, he arrived in Shanghai in 1946. Living in Beijing since 1953, he started to work as mechanics in car industry in 1964, without stopping drawing, his true passion. In 1979, after the Cultural Revolution, he became artistic director in an animation studio. From 1984 to 1986, he attended the Fine Arts University of the capital, being then artistic director in the "Popular fine arts" publishing house. He has produced comics, graphic novels and illustrations.
