Kiriyama Yuichi creates work as dark in its subject matter as in its graphic qualities. His main protagonists are bosozoku, young biker punks and their sad, empty lives of glue-sniffing anomie. Another common subject is working-class people who have lost their minds and turned to explosive acts of self-destruction. This world of degeneracy and violence, as well as the lugubrious manner in which it is drawn, owes much to the work of Maruo Suehiro, whose DDT (1983) Kiriyama adores. He worked for a number of years as an assistant for various manga authors, then opted instead for a full-time job, then married and has a child -- and then, he finally published his first work. That was in AX, 2004.
Seems to have stopped producing manga in 2010 (AX), and it looks like none of his works were published in volumes.
