The pseudonym Dobin (Japanese: どびん; Korean: 도빈) is translated from Japanese as "earthen bottle". The word "dobin" in Japan refers to a traditional Japanese clay teapot used in everyday life. This teapot is not used during the Japanese tea ceremony. The tea ceremony requires a tetsubin (Japanese: 鉄瓶, "iron bottle" ), this is a traditional Japanese cast-iron kettle.
