He joined Shueisha in 1979. Eguchi Hisashi, Hara Tetsuo, Hojo Tsukasa & Tsugihara Ryuji were under his editorial department at Weekly Shonen Jump.
In 1996 he transferred to Men's Non-No. Then transferred again to Bart in 1998 until its ceased publication in 2000.
He then left Shueisha, and became editor-in-chief on Comic Bunch until 2004.
He was the editor-in-chief of Comic Zenon from 2010 to 2013.
