Yabuki is best known for the series Black Cat which ran 20 volumes and finished publishing in the U.S. He is also notable as the artist of the series To Love-Ru alongside his former assistant HASEMI Saki as the writer.
In the last chapter of Black Cat, Kentaro Yabuki stated that "This is more like the end of part one" and says "If the opportunity presents itself, I may begin writing up Black Cat part 2".
At first he wasn’t good at drawing female characters. Then he worked on that after AKIMOTO Osamu praised his characters are cute.
His mentor is Death Note and Hikaru no Go illustrator OBATA Takeshi.
UCHIMIZU Tooru was once his assistant.
SHINOHARA Kenta’s wife and his wife are sisters.
