He loves ramen, and he is the model for Koike-san from Obake no Q-Tarou. The character inspired the song Ramen Daisuki Koike-san no Uta which later inspired Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san.
In 1963, he co-established Studio Zero with FUJIKO F. Fujio, FUJIKO Fujio (A), ISHINOMORI Shotaro, TSUNODA Jiro and AKATSUKA Fujio.
