Sandmæl is a comic creator and illustrator living in Oslo, Norway. «The Eye of the Dragon» is her first published graphic novel, published January 2021 with Egmont. The 2nd book will be out in early 2022.
Before making this book series she worked as a freelance illustrator while she also made a webcomic and worked part-time at a bookstore. She has both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Fine Art from Aberystwyth University in Wales.
She along with Odin Helgheim coined the umbrella term Nordic Manga as a collective term for (possibly) serial story-based graphic novels from the far north.
