The Endless Abyss Isn't So Endless
I'm always sad to report such news, but Endless Abyss is closing its doors after nearly 5 years in the business of scanlating. The best of luck to the future of those staff. Several of their projects will be continued by other groups, and other series are up for grabs for whoever wants to take them over. More specific details can be found on their last blog post on their site.

Thanks to chomio for bringing this piece of news to my attention.

Another group has finally succumb to the real-life's harshness. While I'm not a reader of this group's project, I'm sad that another scanlators are closing. sad

Damn. I really liked some of the shorter series (like 4 volumes), and I love Kimi no Knife. I'm very glad to hear it'll be picked up by IMS though.

Thats really sad sad
Scanlation is not just a business, its a brotherhood. Contributing 5 years to the brotherhood, they have done a lot, and they have done well. I just wish them good luck for whatever course each member of Endless Abyss is going to pursue now. And I hope that they are successful.

Really? Still, it doesn't mean others will continue it. Of course you can just blame it on the manga being shit but I think when a new group starts they want to pick up titles they want to do. ^^

Tough news for Tough fan.

I always hate to see groups go. I hate it even more when they are good at what they do, and have been established a long time, like EA and Willful Muse were. There's always a small voice which says 'is this a trend which will result in the death of true fan-scanlations?'. I know it's paranoid of me, but I'm seeing too many of the semi-commercial half-assed watermarking brigade taking their place, sponsored by the money-making manga reader sites. I hope I'm wrong. In the meantime, I'd like to add my thanks to both groups for the huge amount of scanlations we have due to their efforts. Be lucky guys/girls.

Sad to hear that E-A is closed. Good luck to the staff with their future lives. cmertb will probably continue translating since since cmertb is in many groups already.

The question is how many of E-A's projects will continue and how many will die.

Anyway thanks for hanging around for 5 years and delivering lots of goodies, E-A. You did more than good so just let the youngins take over. I wish you all the well o/
