New Poll - Ice Cream
This week's poll was suggested by icassop. It was originally suggested during the summer, but it's (almost) winter now... There's way too many ice cream flavors out there, so of course it's not an exhaustive list.

I don't really like coffee itself... But man do I like coffee flavored deserts and sweets...

I'm 100% with you there. Can't even drink the stuff (in a smaller Styrofoam cup, I needed 8 creams and 8 sugars to make it bearable), but Coffeecrisp, Iced Caps, Coffee cakes, etc. are delicious.

I'm still a chocolate lover first when it comes to ice cream, the older Chapman's Chocolate recipe was the best of that, but it only seems to be included with their neopolitan anymore. 🙁

I like coffee a lot, so I picked that one. I drink coffee too, though, and I especially like espresso. Milk makes it taste bad! I also love all alcoholic desserts, fruit sorbet, and dark chocolate ice cream. Though the super-sweet flavours are only tolerable for a couple bites. Not nuts, I'm allergic to those.

In Italy I've tried some interesting ice cream flavours - pineapple and ginger ice cream (which was really good) and ice cream with Smarties. Also in Italy you can buy pizza with Frankfurters, or chips, or both...

What kind of Smarties: the candy-coated chocolate discs, or the pressed powder tablets (a.k.a. Rockets)? If its the former, a bunch of fast food chains offer that here in Canada. If it's the latter... I don't even know how to process that, like, wouldn't the textures be at war with each other?

Edit: I don't know whether to be jealous or not of your ability to not only drink the black stuff, but its concentrated (final) form. To me it all tastes like variations of the way burnt rubber smells. I wonder if it's that way for everyone who doesn't like coffee (the drink)? Yet I love coffee flavoured deserts all the same.

The former. Quite good. I've never been to Canada, but perhaps I should! When I've got a lot more money. I've not heard of those 'Rockets' before either, but I looked them up, I think the British equivalent would be Parma Violets. That would definitely be strange in ice cream. I kind of want to try it now... if I do, I'll let you know how it turns out.

When I first drank coffee (aged about 10) I also thought it tasted terrible but drank it anyway because I wanted to seem mature. The taste's grown on me and now I'm addicted to coffee. If you don't like it, are you a tea drinker? Or something else?

I like the Ogura (red bean) ice cream the most, followed by mint mmm...

Also, Strawberry, or any berry flavored ice cream mostly not that good, but expensive strawberry ice cream is godly mmm...

parents used to buy Neopolitan; and we'd leave the Strawberry intact every box

Voted chocolate since it's a classic I will always love. However ones like stracciatella or coffee or salted caramel are also lovely.

I also really love true italian lemon gelato (everywhere else I have had it was a poor cry in comparison). Most refreshing delight.

Honestly, I like almost all those flavours. And I have a hard time picking just one favourite (not just with ice cream, I'm always annoying this way).

I picked chocolate, since I'm a chocolate-addict, but… I'm super picky, even if I like the flavour, it has to taste like the flavour rather than just sugar (ice cream is sugary to begin with, so if the flavour adds even more…). Honestly, my favourites are chocolate (preferably dark), vanilla bean (regular vanilla usually doesn't taste like vanilla, after all), coffee, matcha/green tea, alcoholic, and red bean. There are other flavours I like, but mostly in combination (to wit, orange chip, mint chip, and chocolate almond) — there's no option for that though. They're all so good! — how do you pick just one! (So in the end, I chose based on the fact that I have chocolate in some form basically every day. )

On the other hand I wouldn't touch, say, strawberry ice cream with a ten foot pole. Strawberries on ice cream is fine, but strawberry flavour, absolutely not. But that's just me and my weird variety of pickiness. (I find that fruit flavours, especially berries, tend to be better without the milk, so a sorbet. )

Speaking of toppings, malt is lovely!— and a rare case where I can pick out a single favourite. (I have fond memories of going to this ice cream parlour in my home town, where they made the ice cream themselves, and ordering a malt sundae with dark chocolate ice cream, extra malt on top. It was delicious!) Second favourite is cookie dough (cookie dough flavour is always in something more sugary than regular vanilla, unfortunately).
