I think the only content I've actually seen in colour is webtoons, and I despise the webtoon format, so my answer would be that I actively avoid anything with colour.

The occasional colour pages (for black-and-white works) is nice, and some stuff works best in colour, or might need colour (i.e. don't really work in black-and-white)
...but generally speaking, it doesn't really matter.
And black-and-white is quicker and cheaper to make.

I prefer the webtoon format, and even if it's in a more traditional manga or comic format I generally like full color better, but with the major caveat that I very much don't like traditionally formatted mangas that have been colored in after the fact then chopped up and awkwardly rearranged into a webtoon format in an attempt to appeal to the wider webtoon reading audience and the growing number of people who do most of their reading on their phones.

I'm also not fond of fan colored pages, especially if the translator inserts them as a replacement to the original black and white panel. Basically, all things being equal I like color better, but only if the page was originally intended to be in color; the aesthetic and feel of black and white later translated into color really doesn't appeal to me.

I honestly prefer the black and white line art to a lot of the modern coloring we see in webtoons. Every once in a while you get something that looks great or really takes advantage of the digital color medium, but most of them don't.

Like I can't overstate how much less impact Eternal Force's art has compared to the earlier parts of the The Breaker series.

The explanation for the second to last option should be "I dislike it if it is in color" and the last option "I will not read it if it is in color" since Neutral already encompasses not caring about color, but that would probably be a boring result. Just a 80% spike in the middle.

Anyways I'm also boring and have no preference. I think it depends on the medium and whether I started reading it with color. For example, there are a lot of manga nowadays that get converted to verticomix (tbh I'm not a fan of that trend but that's besides the point) and sometimes will also get color. There is a manga I no longer remember the name of that I initially read in BW manga form that I eventually had to continue reading in verticomic colored form and I wasn't fond of that (not taking into account my dislike of that format). The same doesn't really happen the other way around as often, but I'd probably feel the same way.

Well, I definitely don't choose what I read based on if it has colors or not, but I also think I like the colored format more than the black and white one.

I just tend to like and remember the stories in this format a lot more than just the traditional black and white, even if I have some works I love that are uncolored and I still read a lot of them this way, I usually enjoy colored stories more.

It brings another dimension to scenes and how much more you can enjoy them.

So yes, colors in comics def. makes a difference in enjoyment but not in accessability, I'd even say it's easier to get into mangas in pure black and white than anything else colored.

There's no point in color if the coloring makes the art look worse than it did in b/w

i definitely prefer black and white. colored pages here and there can be a nice touch, and im fond of the monochromatic look of things like nagata kabi's essay manga. but im drawn to art that uses the black and white form well. so i definitely agree, but i tend to be less interested if something is in color.

of course, that rarely deters me from reading things--i just don't seek it out like i do beautiful black-and-white art

I like my vertical manhwa colored.

I like my book manga to stay black & white, but I also love the occasional colorization.

I HATE (original) vertical manga, colored or not. Those cheap aborted imitations conceived out of wedlock between manga and manhwa don't deserve to exist.

I prefer the black and white, actually. It's a shame every option on the poll is either neutral or says color is better.

I prefer monochrome over color by far so it being in color could be a turn off. It's nice on like cover art but in the actual reading parts it being monochrome makes the reading experience more enjoyable to me.

Color pages can be nice, but I tend to prefer the way the greyscale artwork looks, especially in terms of the type of shading used for greyscale compared to the shading used on many color pages.

Of course, color pages which have been converted to greyscale just make me feel like I'm missing out on the full experience, but sometimes it's unavoidable, due to how something was published.

As for full-color manga... they can be interesting, but often times I find that the art just feels a little too bland and flat. This isn't always the case, but it's the case often enough that I don't actively seek out full color manga.

Then there's manga which have been converted from greyscale to full-color. I feel like oftentimes the art becomes too different in the color version, or the colors don't mesh well with the original version's linework. However, this is not always the case and sometimes we get something that looks incredible in color, such as Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

There's also the rare manga which are mostly black & white, but then use a splash of color for story purposes, such as Pluto by Naoki Urasawa.

I was forced to vote 'Neutral', however my feelings are not 'Neutral'. This poll ought to have more options as it seems either you like colour manga or it doesn't matter to you. I detest coloured manga. If a series I like goes full colour inevitably the art starts to look much worse, the chapters become extremely short, and then I can't take it and drop. I will absolutely not read series already in colour and I don't really like those occasional coloured double-page spreads either. I agree with the hamzatsuit as most coloured manga are those AWFUL, awful vertical ones.

That's only for manga; manhwa tend to be well coloured, so I like them. As for manhua, I almost never read those.

I like black and white more. I like being able to see the lines, and you can see details better than when there’s color. You’ll find more detailed art in black and white than in color too.
