New Poll - Clearing the Browser
This week's poll was suggested by our user lollylopmr. How often do your clear your browser's history and/or cookies? I don't think I ever clear them. (This is not asking about the cache.) I also find it really annoying when sites automatically log you out of them when you don't want them to

More like from time to time, sometimes only the history, sometimes also the caches and cookies mmm...

I delete the cookies more frequently than my history. My computer is set to delete history after a month, and I manually delete cookies every fortnight or so. I clear everything once and while (irregularly) — I guess at least once a year? If there were an irregular option, I'd go for it.

Only if I have trouble for specific sites? Or maybe if my browser is lagging (?), I usually clear the cache, history, and cookies. Not sure if clearing history and cookies will help tho..

Definitely only when I have a problem with a specific site.
Some people just feel cluttered with their history and that's fine, or if you're using a public computer certainly, but in 2024 anyone that deletes their history on their personal computer for "security" reasons is implicitly delusional about their general security on the internet. It doesn't matter how much of your local nonsense you delete, you're still being tracked. All the ad companies are still building their profiles of you. The NSA knows what you googled last week. Doesn't matter if you have a VPN, either.
Literally the only way you're avoiding all of this on the internet is by running tor browser on a custom barebones linux install.
And even then, they'll know you're running tor. They just won't know what you're running it *for*.
