New Poll - Romantic Confession
This week's poll was suggested by DandelionLilyPetals. Does gender matter in determining who confesses first?

You can submit poll ideas here

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Is it important to you that your partner / significant other is into manga/anime?
No, it doesn't matter at all - votes: 2434 (72.4%)
I prefer them to not like manga/anime - votes: 87 (2.6%)
Yes, but it doesn't matter what they like, as long as it's manga/anime - votes: 676 (20.1%)
Yes, and they have to like similar things that I do - votes: 166 (4.9%)
There were 3363 total votes.
The poll ended: April 11th 2020

A true survey would also ask about physical attractiveness, personality, age, religion, other interests...

What an odd question! It doesn't matter, obviously.

It does not matter.

It doesn't long as either of them become a couple by the end of the story. Not just confess and not be together.

It doesn't matter, if forced to pick one, I guess the main character mmm...

Hi! I'm adding a little note here. This poll also works with actual marriage proposals. Usually, in a normal male and female relationship, the male is expected to propose first. I'm not judging anyone who believes in this view. But it's something that can turn a good relationship into a terrible one. Also, thank you for choosing this suggestion and all the replies and votes being given! I was really happy seeing people reply with honest answers!

Please stay safe and happy! ๐Ÿ˜€

It doesn't matter and maybe sooner than later so that we can see a relationship. Mars is about as good as how this can be done in a manga.

Doesn't matter.

However, would love the same poll for marriage proposals. So curious to see whether there will be a difference for manga and how big it is to current poll!

Ok, my "neither ever confess" mostly came from my general dislike of romantic series but it's fun to see the spread

It doesn't matter to me. As long as fits.

I don't care as long as it advances... JUST MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN.

Seriously, japanese "romance" might just be the worst written in the world. It's incredibly immature, even by teen-standards, and is slower than a daytime-soap. Yes, some of it is due to Japan's... problems with sexuality and love in general, but it's worse than that - it's like 99% of all mangakas are complete hikikomoris who have never had even the most casual of relationships with the other gender.

The only ones I've read that are even remotely alright are those that are borderline-hentai.

I see that you're a man of taste as well. For some reason doujins and porn do have better storytelling when it comes to romance than most other stuff.

it doesn't matter. Please just confess. It's bad for my heart when you wait too long

» antid0te on April 13th, 2020, 9:38am

Lol, we are the same.

Guess I'll have to go with doesn't matter.

But mostly it depends on the characters, not if they are the MC or not.

I read the poll and immediately thought "obviously that doesn't matter", but then I read the options and realized that only one of the options was actually interesting to me, so I picked

However unrealistic it may be, a romance is most interesting to me if neither is chasing the other and they both have the confidence to be on the same footing when entering the relationship.

Ideally, this happens in like the first chapter ๐Ÿ˜› Literally the only manga that was fun enough for me to stick with a "no-confession" for over a hundred chapters was Kaguya.

It depends entirely on personality for me, gender doesnโ€™t matter. Same with a proposal. I just want to see whatever will generate the most interesting dialogue.
