A functional body is a must but that's not what this is about so go with mind and mind every time. Especially in our information society. There is modeling and whatnot and I could see how a woman could make something out of herself with a built-like aphrodite and little else but I am happy as a man and looks are the lesser gift once you exit high school if you are a man. I have seen (presentable) obese men score smoking women as personality becomes desirable to women once they reach their early to mid-20s. Fat men are also a fetish in the gay community so there options... Start working the muscles in your head and employers only want to see your resume and not your MCU 6-pack as you don't get college credit at the gym.

Things of course look different if you have leprosy but few here need to have their disabilities fixed.

I find your statement “a woman could make something out of herself with a built-like aphrodite and little else…looks are the lesser gift once you exit high school if you are a man” as extremely sexist and misogynistic: there are many women who have important jobs (CEOs, politicians, historians, doctors, authors…) and aren’t beautiful or show their age clearly (examples are Fabiola Gianotti who is the head of the CERN of Ginevra, Angela Merkel who is one of most important German politicians and was the leader of Germany, Chiara Frugoni who was one of the greatest historians about European Middle Ages society and continued her job until her death at 82, Octavia E. Butler and Ursula K. Le Guin and Marion Zimmer Bradley whose works are classics of the fantasy and science fiction genres and whose influence in speculative fiction is evident, the Group ‘24 who revolutionized the shoujo genre and created many classic mangas and the shounen-ai/Yaoi and shoujo-ai/Yuri genres and still continues to have a massive impact worldwide, Rumiko Takahashi the “Queen of mangas” and CLAMP who are examples of eclecticism because they treat different genres without problems and whose impact is worldwide, Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda who are the winners of Hugo award and the Eisner awards and other awards for their series “Monstress”).
And there are as many women who don’t want a relationship with obese men because they find them ugly and don’t want to deal with a partner who can have easily fatal heart attacks, diabetes, problems with mobility and many other illnesses as many women who don’t mind obese men. And in many countries in Africa and Middle East fat women are considered beautiful.
I would like to point out that men who works in the entertainment industry as actors, singers and idols have to worry about their looks and their handsomeness like women do too because they’re essential parts of their jobs.

If it's just an enhancement, then body. I'm not saying I'm the smartest guy you'll meet, but I think I have enough knowledge and wisdom to get by a normal life. Now, if I have that and a great body, well, you know how top athletes make. After retiring, I'd just live within my means and live like a hermit, and if that doesn't work out, like if my investments failed, I'd still have my current skills to fall back to earn a living.

I could probably make bank with a better mind, too, but, well, the day-to-day would involve lots of boring work 9-5. It's less appealing since pro athletes just train, goof around, train, then play the sport, then goof around, then train.

As a 29-year-old female with multiple health issues, I chose body. Health is really important, and if I have that, I can also use my mind more effectively.

Actually, there are 3 types of health: physical, psychical, social.
And one shouldn't choose only 1 of those.

I'm already fairly knowledgeable.
I mean, there's always more to learn, but I'd rather do that on my own rather than some automatic enhancement.
Learning is its own reward.

Now, as for working out, that's no fun at all... I can do research all day but working out is just stressful and time consuming. I'd much rather take an automatic enhancement for my body rather than my mind.

"Mens sana in corpore sano." Translation: "A healthy mind in a healthy body."
(Juvenile, Satires 10.356-64)

In other words, a healthy body is what sustains a healthy mind.
I've seen what a sick and weak body can do to a person.
Even if you're a genius, winning against all illness is difficult.
Especially if it's an illness that can't be cured.

brains are overrated
having a wider lens on all the worlds problems and your unique ability to solve them is not exactly a guarantee for a life of happiness
all those doctors who mapped out healthy lifestyles in the 80's got an obesity epidemic as a reward for all their hard work
being super smart, while no one else is; that's a Greek tragedy called Cassandra
longevity is pretty useful
it's melancholic to look at my family tree, and see so many names who never made it to 40

A better body isn't just about looks. Its also about quality of life and it can help you with your work. If you are an artist it sure helps if your eyesight and hands work well. It kind of sucks if you are a musician even an amateur one and arthritis makes it impossible to play the piano or guitar or any other instrument. You wouldn't want a surgeon or dentist with bad hands working on you. If you are just healthier and stronger it can make your senior years in life better and allow you to be more independent.

On the other hand, a better mind might allow you to achieve more and have a more comfortable life in the long run. But this might be more dependent on how ambitious you are. Plenty of people just want a normal life without the stress of striving for achievement or solving complicated problems.

Easily body. The basic reasoning is that it's more likely to be the limiting factor to my life, as a less-than-perfectly-healthy American.

My mind's fine. I went to MIT. I'm not a supergenius but I'm definitely smart enough to do anything I can think to actually want to do with my brain. I've designed a new graph theory algorithm for my job at a CDN. Would being even smarter make my job even easier? A bit, but honestly not that much, most of my job is busywork so I'd just be cutting down the time it takes to do the actual fun problem solving part.

So yeah. Body enhancements please.

I chose body mainly because that way it would be easier for me to exercise.

Tough choice for me. I've had joint problems since middle school. If enhancing my body meant no more injuries/pain I'd do it. On the other hand, if I could enhance my brain enough to heal my body that would be better. Enhancing your mind also comes with the risk of altering your personality. Changing how you think and view the world, can change who you are.

I'm in pain right now, so.

My body is more of a limiting factor in my life than my mind is.
As great as enhanced focus & decisiveness would be... A healthier body would help my focus anyway. I wouldn't have to sleep off physical strain all the time, and I'd be able to do the work I want to do.
There's a lot I can't do these days.

agh, can somebody give me a new shoulder
