Kashihon publisher founded by Sakurai Shouichi, the brother of Tatsumi Yoshihiro. As Sakurai was out of work at the time, he had to borrow money from Satou Masaaki to finance his venture.

Unlike most of it's peers, Tokosha didn't fold when the Kashihon boom was over. Sakurai would keep the company going until his death in 2003, albeit with only a very small output over the years.

Tokosha was the inspiration for the "Hokusei Shuppan" in Gegege no Nyobo.
