Editorial Planeta is a book publishing company founded in 1949 in Barcelona (Spain) by José Manuel Lara. Considered the flagship company of Grupo Planeta, it has published around 6000 titles belonging to more than 1500 authors, most of them Spanish-speaking. Each year it awards the Planeta de Novela Prize, the Fernando Lara Novel Prize, the Azorín Prize and the Premi de les Lletres Catalanes Ramon Llull. Editorial Planeta publishes books in Spain, France, Portugal and Latin America.

Since its foundation and until October 2017 it had its headquarters in Barcelona. At this time and on the occasion of the declaration of independence of Catalonia decided to move its headquarters to Madrid.
