Storyline: 10/10
Rurouni Kenshin has a classic storyline. It takes place hundreds of years ago, in the Meiji period. Several events in the manga even took place in real life. There's even a character or two in this manga that were real people. The manga is 28 volumes (255 chapters) so it goes through many different "arcs". Though there are two main ones: The Kyoto/Shiso arc. Then the later Enishi arc. In my opinion, Rurouni Kenshin has no low point storyline wise. It starts off great, and ends off great. What more could you ask for in a manga?

Characters: 10/10
R.Kenshin has many main characters. There's the honest and noble Himura Kenshin, the sweet and sometimes mean Kaoru, Kenshin's best friend and rival, Sanosuke Sagora, the young Yahiko who looks up to Kenshin, and the healer Megumi. Who can also forget Shisho, Enishi, Aoshi, or Misao? Every character is special in their own way.

Artwork: 9/10
Rurouni Kenshin has superb artwork. The characters look great. The environments as well. But the fight scenes are the highlight. At times they can look confusing and repetitive, but most of the time, the fight scenes are excellent. The manga also doesn't lack in the detail.

Overall: 9.5/10
Rurouni Kenshin is one of those manga you never forget. It ranks as not only one of the most popular manga ever, but in my eyes one of the best manga ever. I recommend this manga to everyone.

3 arc was very good
character development well
but 9.4 a bit overrated i think
9 is enough for this manga

The character review seems pretty confusing and disjointed for readers who want a description/review.

Still, I agree: it is a great manga.

The Meiji era was not quite hundreds of years ago. It actually lasted from 1868 to 1912. The manga is set in the early part of the period around 1880, as the main character Himura Kenshin, among others, was involved in the Boshin War (referred to in the manga as the Bakumatsu) which led up the beginning of the Meiji era.
