A Great start to a manga with a lot of potential!
After reading almost 2 volumes of Change 123, this manga is incredibly entertaining! You may think "not another multiple personality manga" but this one in particular does the genre great justice. What makes the concept superior for this manga is the comedic yet deep plot, the art, and the ecchiness. All 3 of these aspects are worthy of praise.
The plot though complicated keeps you captivated. I will try not to ruin for anyone that hasn’t read the manga yet since the manga is still new, so I think will not explain more about the plot.
On the action side this manga sets a platform that show cases of some of the best action I’ve ever seen. Motoko/Hibiki/Fujiko/Mikiri(4 personalities) is an action frenzy killing machine. This super combat heroine was born to fight and on an odd occasion likes to starting 'em. Apart from typical fights with an aggressive hoodlums doped up on steroids the battles become more intense with a deeper plot at hand. There seems to be a greater enemy lurking in the shadows in the later chapters and there is no knowing what complications will arise. HiFuMi even though super strong does go toe to toe with some equally skilled foes so its still some what realistic.
The romance aspect is complicated but very intriguing. Kosukegawa the male lead typical physically weak nice guy who likes Motoko(the harmless HiFuMi), he is one of the few who knows of her secret personalities. The romance developes as he gets to know Motoko and her other 3 personalities with the help of his bizarre yet funny Kamen Raider(his favourite super hero) conscience edging him on. Each of her personality is unique and the author does a good job at showing the emotions and traits of each. Hibiki is aggressive and forward, Fujiko is serious and reserved, and Mikiri is a typical bimbo. Kosukegawa likes Motoko with a passion and wants to confess but it’s not easy by any means. At separate times he also gets to know the other three personalities whom also have a liking towards him and it is a barrel of laughs because little do they know about anything other than combat!
The art in this manga is incredibly detailed and very pleasant to look at. The artist Iwasawa Shiuri is definitely a new favourite of mine, this is his first manga illustration correct me if I’m wrong. The characters are well drawn and even Motoko’s personalities all look specifically different. All the characters looks exceptionally great, the female led is unbelievably cute as Motoko, strikingly sexy as hibiki and furjiro, and big breasted'n chubby as Mikiri. Some of the action angles he draws at are incredible, I couldn’t understand how he could perceive such views but the images are spot on and create a great vibe. You must check it out for yourself to really understand what I'm trying to convey here.
The ecchi is top notch, there is plenty of detailed fan service and the occasional nipples. There is also some teasing but you’ll have to read the manga to find out more. HiFuMi surpisingly doesn’t care what she is wearing while she is fighting or has no choice but to enter a battle wearing next to nothing. As mentioned before the angle shots show plenty of detailed fan service but it just adds to the hardcore sexy style of our favourite heroine. Kosukegawa does get into unpredictable ecchi situations every chapter or so, and it is quite amusing seeing his ecchi reactions. I can already imagine the situations getting worst as he gets to know more about Motoko.
Overall I am enjoying this manga very much and I believe some of you out there will agree. I hope the Author and the Artist continue to do their best and not lose their motivation. The potential and the art is there, let’s all hope they make it an all time classic.
