Plot/Story
For some people when they die, they go happily (or unhappily) into the afterlife. For others, such as the characters in Gantz, they are forced to fight and defeat absurd aliens bent on invading earth. Gantz is a black sphere, approximatly a meter in diameter. Every once in a while, people who have died are summoned to a room where they are told that their lives are no longer theirs. They are told they will be fighting aliens, and if they can accumulate 100 points worth of kills, they can go home. However, it's not as simple as it seems. The aliens are weird crazy bad-asses. Your chances of surviving are very minimal. To help these chances, there are these special suits and weapons that those summoned by Gantz use to fight. However, even this may not be enough...
Personal Thoughts
This is definitly an interesting manga. I saw the first few episodes of the anime and then went straight to the manga. The chapters are really short, so it may help to wait for a volume to be released before you start digging in. In all, this was a very interesting manga. There are some sexually explicit (adult) scenes, which kind of make this series hard to profile. I'm not really sure where the plot is going, but I'm definitly going to be there reading about it. The series has that sorta, 'bad-ass character, being recognized as bad-ass by everyone else and doing bad-ass things' kinda feeling.
Characters
Kurono Kei - Perhaps the only stable character in the entire manga, kuruno trys to appear like he's cool all the time. He treats the world like shit, because they don't deserve any better. He begins to change though, as a result of Gantz and the characters around him. You'll just have to read to see what I mean...
Drawing Style
Pretty good, I have no complaints. It is simple to read and the flow of the pages is not confusing. The chapters are just way too small, they're like 10-15 pages. Recommend that you wait for a full volume to come out before reading more, or you might just get pissed with all the cliff-hangers.
Enjoyment & Overall
This is definilty an enjoyable series. It has some very interesting aspects that will keep me reading till the very end. I've read all the way up to 193 as of now. I recommend it to any one looking for some crazy (and sometimes bloody) action, a weird and absurd atmosphere, and an enigma just begging to be solved.
