Plot/Story
Everywhere you look there are persocoms. Realistic androids whose job is to do small tasks, help with anything it can, or just comfort. This could be exactly what Hideki needs as he becomes a ronin, living on his own for the first time, splitting his days between cram school and his part-time job at Club Pleasure. Yes, Hideki would love to have a persocom of his own, if they weren't so damn expenisive. His luck takes a complete turn when he finds a persocom dumped in the trash. Thrilled, he finally gets this very cute persocom back to his apartment. Why would anyone throw this persocom away? After "switching" her on he soon realizes why someone would give up such a great possession. She can only say "chi". A few curious and nosebloody moments later he officially names her Chi. What Hideki doesn't realize is how important Chi really is, and where the mystery that unfolds around her is to take him.
Characters
Hediki is a 19 year old ronin who lives in an apartment complex run by a very sexy landlord and neighbored to a technut classmate which he quickly becomes friends with. Perverted, a bit clueless, and dateless. Yeah... a normal guy.
Chi is the cute persocom that Hediki is lucky to find in a trash pile. She learns by imitating Hediki which probably isn't the best person to imitate. Completely adorable and always willing to please, she is a very unique persocom. Then again unique really doesn't due Chi justice.
Shimbo lives right next door to Hediki. He also has a persocom, about 5 inches tall, named Plum. She is more of a palm pilot version of a persocom. Mature and knowledgable about persocoms, he and Hediki become fast friends.
Chitose who owns the complex is a very mature sexy woman. She provides all the cute outfits that Chi wears. Her involvement with Chi is far deeper than anyone could have guessed.
There are more characters but you'll have to read to enjoy each one.
Drawing Style
As usual Clamp has a enjoyable drawing style that will keep you flipping back and forth just to either laugh at the expressions or to marvel. Ecchi at times and hilarious at other points the emotions of each scene are conveyed nicely. If you are a cosplay fan you also love the outfits that Chi and other persocoms end up wearing.
Enjoyment
Some will love this comedic love story, and others will find it mild. I personally thought this was written well but sometimes predictable. I often caught myself laughing out loud rolling on the floor just like Hediki. If only Chi was rolling along with me.
Overall
As I said sometimes its predictable, but in the end its a read that your average manga lover can't pass up. Excellent art, very funny, and enjoyable story, I don't think you can ask for more. Any Clamp lover will immedeatly love this series.
Chobits was the first series I ever read, I have two sets (one to read, and a mint set to keep). A few weeks after finishing vol 8 I purchased the Anime. I really enjoyed the series. This is still one of my fav's, not quite my number one.
