Mangaka; Oh! Great

Plot/Story

Strange supernatural creatures have always existed. Its just that their existence went largely unnoticed.

Tetsu is a biker who has a morning paper run to support himself and his (non blood related) sister Satomi. He rules the night, regarded as a man to be feared. He has earned many nicknames, one of them being "Devil."

One night he encounters an actual devil and they fight. During the fight Tetsu, with no other option bites the thing. It smiles and then tears him in half.

Unsurprisingly, Tetsu dies...

Surprisingly, he doesn’t stay dead...

Characters

Tetsu; He's a strong man and he cares for his sister. He doesn’t like being the pawn of another person and after receiving powers from a devil he vows to make the devil regret ever giving him those powers.

Satomi; She’s cute, she loves her (non blood related) brother way more than normal and she wears cat ears in the latter half of the manga (Yay; Cat ears)

Harry Potter... err... no... umm, Dekoppa; Dekoppa for some reason always reminded me of Harry Potter, pretty much just because they have a scar in the same place and because they are both nerds who you want to hit. Anyway; Dekoppa is super smart and he defeats the adversaries that he has to face by using the power of Science. (Sounds kinda lame; but it works. He blows stuff up and makes bigass monsters implode.)

Drawing Style

It’s Oh! Greats work, and if you have read any of his work you will know the drawing style.

Oh! Great is an artist who specialises in breasts... in addition to that he's also excellent at drawing the rest of a characters body. His women are attractive and his men are all powerful men who look like they live in a gym (with the exception of characters who are supposed to be nerds (Dekoppa and the Professor).

Enjoyment

Its only 2 volumes; but a lot happens and it’s a pretty interesting manga. But god it changes; after the first few chapters the story just shifts to a new cast of characters.

Still... it’s a good read and even Dekoppa's scientific victories are cool.

Overall

Big cool monsters, freaky dissection guy and a nerd who vanquishes enemies with the power of Science. If this appeals to you, you should like Majin Devil.

Even if it doesn’t I suggest trying the manga and seeing how it goes. It’s only a short two volume work, but it’s substantial and really does have some cool scenes.

Its worth the time it takes to read it; and when your finished, even if you didn’t like it, you probably learned something scientific.
