Plot/Story
After being dumped, followed closely by her grandmother's sudden death, the chubby Yuri is left broke and homeless. That is until she discovers that her grandmother had been lying to her for years. Her mother is not dead, but is in fact a famous movie star, and very much alive. Upon arriving at her mother's house, she meets her three new beautiful siblings, all from different fathers. Her newfound family is filled with hilarious oddities, ranging from laziness to drunkennes to gay incest. She is constantly anagonized by her brothers Sumire and Aoi. And her sister Huyou does little to help. And thus Yuri becomes little more than a maid in the household, catering to her siblings needs while her mother travels the world. But as Yuri's warmess fills the house which before had been so cold...what will happen between she and her brothers? Can they come to see each other as brothers and sister before it's too late?

Characters
Yuri- 18 years old- the main character who is a chubby, "ugly" girl though she is cute in her own way

Sumire- 21 years old- older brother of Yuri, gets drunk very often and when he's drunk he is kind to any female he sees (especially Yuri)...when he is sober however, he flings insults left and right and hates all women

Aoi- 17 years old- Yuri's younger brother, loves Sumire though his brother does not know it, the most abusive to Yuri whom he sees as a rival especially because of Sumire's behavior towards her while drunk

Huyou- 26 years old- sister of Yuri, doesn't lift a finger to do anything for herself, all she does is sleep and watch videos from her huge collection

Drawing Style
The art in this manga isn't all that great. The lines are more rounded since this is an older manga, and you don't find the more angular lines popular these days. I for one, never really care what the art is like, I'm a person who puts more emphasis on story, but one thing about the art in this manga I noticed is the noses are drawn a bit oddly.

Enjoyment
This manga makes you laugh over and over. It has its funny parts but it also has its serious parts. The emotions the characters feel as the story progresses can really wrench your heart. Once you start reading, it's hard to stop.

Overall
Overall this manga is one of my all-time favorites. If you can get past the different than usual art and the currently low quality scanlations (though a group is talking of picking it up and redoing them once they find a Japanese translator), you too will undoubtedly love this series. Oh, one more thing. If you like dramas, there is a Taiwanese drama named The Rose based on this series. It's subtitled up to episode 17 at the moment I make this post. It's great and follows the manga closely.

I really like this manga! biggrin

Overall the story is pretty fun to read. I like the humor. It made me laugh at times, and sad at times.
A lot of the characters are somewhat too rude to "ugly, fat" people though.

I like the main characters, but Sumire gets on my nerves sometimes. I would prefer Aoi over him anytime. bigrazz
